Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents Night of Strings at the Garden: Baroque Reimagined

eventdetail

Baroque meets contemporary as the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra strings revisit the past with a modern twist. Two visionary female composers, Clarice Assad and Caroline Shaw, bookend the program with works that reimagine classical traditions. Assad’s Suite for Lower Strings draws from Bach, blending his familiar melodies with 20th-century influences. Inspired by Haydn, Shaw’s Entr’acte gives the feeling of dancing, riffing off the classic minuet form. At the heart of the program, Respighi’s Suite No. 3 of Ancient Airs and Dances brings a fresh perspective to Baroque-era works for guitar and lute.
