Moudy Gallery presents "On DisplayThe Art of Performance and Audience," an exhibition curated by TCU MA Art History students Phoebe Adams, Emma Fletcher, Paulina Martín, Kim Phan Nguyen, and Sarah Webb.

"On Display" presents a selection of 20 works on paper from the TCU Permanent Art Collection. Although these works differ in media, size, and content, all explore the broad concept of performance. “Performance” here encompasses literal theatrical performance as well as metaphorical performance, such as labor, religion, or femininity. This exhibition addresses the importance of audience and participation. The work in this exhibition is dynamic and unexpected and will present audience members with a new perspective. The selection represents many different cultural ideas about performance, with works from Texas, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, and more.

Artists featured in "On Display" include Michael Ayrton, Tom Blackwell, Lee Chesney, Kunisada Gototei, Isamu Hayakawa, George Lockwood, Noel Mahaffey, Gulino Nunzio, Josef Pescenke, Patrick Proctor, Leticia Tarrago, Tomikichirō Tokuriki, Kitagawa Utamaro and Ádám Würtz.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through February 6.
