Rahr & Sons Brewing Co., which has made charitable giving a cornerstone of its business since opening in 2004, has partnered with charity: water to help bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing parts of the world. Every Wednesday beginning March 29, Rahr & Sons will donate $1 from every mid-week tasting admission to the nonprofit organization; for every $10,000 raised, charity: water will be able to build a well to support the needs of hundreds of people.
To launch its new charitable partnership, Rahr & Sons will host an event on World Water Day. With a goal to raise $10,000 in its first week, Rahr & Sons will donate $5 from each $10 ticket sale, as well as 100 percent of funds raised from a silent auction featuring numerous prizes from local businesses. All event attendees will receive three beer tastings & a commemorative pint glass and enjoy live music from electronic band Ishi.
