When you hear a knock at the door, you don’t always know who’s on the other side and the person’s true intent. That certainly applies in Steve Yockey’s revenge play, The Thrush & the Woodpecker.
Brenda Hendricks and her college senior son, Noah, are having a serious discussion about his prestigious school maybe expelling him for vandalism when a knock sounds. Noah investigates but finds no one at the door. The knock came from an aggressive woodpecker, and the yard is full of them.
Later, while Brenda is out, another knock is heard. Is it the woodpecker again? No. This time, a mysterious stranger saying she’s from Brenda’s past is there, and she has vengeance on her mind.
The play is for mature audiences, with no children under 6 admitted. Proceeds benefit TCC Southeast drama activities and scholarships.
The production takes place in the C.A. Roberson Theatre on the TCC Southeast campus.
