Trinity Nature Conservancy will lead three days of discovery, paddling on the Trinity River paddle trail. They will paddle a different tributary of the Trinity each day. Each segment will be about 5 to 6 miles in length and will be beginner friendly. Participants can choose to do one, two, or all three days, and anyone who paddles all three days will be rewarded with a prize at the picnic on Labor Day after the last paddle trip.
Day one will go down the West Fork of the Trinity River from White Settlement Trailhead Launch to Panther Island, break for bagged lunch, then continue on to the Clear Fork past the Tilley Memorial Footbridge to take out below the Double Drop Chute. Those who wish to play on the chute may do so. This trip is easy beginner level, about 5 ½ miles in very slow water.
Participants must pre-register for this event and must bring sack lunch, drinking water, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and shoes that can get wet (no flip-flops).
This event is free for those who have their own equipment. A limited number of rental boats are available for $40, which includes boat, paddle, vest, and guide. Go adventuresunlimitedpaddling.com to make a reservation.
