The 2026-27 Broadway Season at Casa Mañana Theatre will feature regional versions of four relatively recent hit Broadway musicals, as well as a couple of smaller scale events.
Leading off the season will be a one-night-only event, The Music of Elton John, making its mainstage debut after a popular run in The Reid Cabaret Theatre.
Taking place on August 22, 2026, the concert features the stories behind the music, including John's early days as a session musician, partnering with Bernie Taupin, and selling out stadiums across the globe.
Broadway singers will perform all of John's iconic hits, including “Your Song,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Rocket Man,” “Bennie and the Jets,” “Candle in the Wind,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," and more.
The first full production of the season is Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations, running September 15-20, 2026. This production will be one of the first regional productions after the show’s run on Broadway, which ran from 2019-2022.
The jukebox musical tells the true story of The Temptations - five men who followed their dreams from the streets of Detroit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The story plays out to the tune of their top hits, including “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone,” and more.
Next up will be Disney’s Frozen, running November 10-15, 2026, which has recently made its way into local theaters after finishing its North American tour in 2024.
When Princess Elsa is crowned Queen of Arendelle, the magical powers she’s tried to hide burst forth, cursing the land into a forever winter. As Elsa flees into the mountains, her sister Anna sets off on a journey to find her and bring her home.
The first show of 2027 will be Dear Evan Hansen, running March 2-7. The Casa Mañana production will come just a few months after the 10th anniversary of the show's debut on Broadway.
The musical tells the story of 17-year-old Evan Hansen, who has felt invisible his entire life. When a tragedy shocks his community and thrusts him into the center of a rapidly evolving controversy, Evan is given the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to be somebody else.
The final full show of the season is Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, making an encore run after being staged at Casa Mañana in 2023. The show will run May 18-23, 2027.
Before she was hit-maker Carole King, she was Carole Klein, a spunky, young songwriter from Brooklyn with a unique voice. The show takes audience from the chart-topping hits she wrote for the biggest acts in music to her own life-changing success.
It features classic songs like “You’ve Got a Friend,” “One Fine Day,” “So Far Away,” “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling,” and “Natural Woman,” among others.
The 2027 Apprentice Program production, Blood Brothers, will be the official final show of the season, with performances running August 6-8, 2027.
A haunting rags-to-riches tragedy of our times, Blood Brothers tells the story of twins separated at birth. When a mother surrenders one of her newborn twins to her childless employer, the boys grow up streets apart, never learning the truth.
Circumstances lead to prosperity for one brother and hard times for the other, nevertheless the two become firm friends. Eventually, the two brothers fall in love with the same girl, resulting in a rift in their relationship.
