It's what Fort Worth gears up for all year long: the biggest arts festival of them all. While that festival dominates the weekend, there are a few other things worth your attention, including the debut of a new pro sports team, great comedy, a compelling movie, and a new theater production.

Below are the best options for your precious free time Thursday through Sunday. Don't like what you see? Lucky for you, we have a much longer list of the city's best events.

2016 Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival
The Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival, now in its 31st year, is the largest arts festival in Texas, spanning more than 27 blocks in downtown Fort Worth while showcasing over 200 hand-selected juried artists. Taking place through Sunday, the festival is also Fort Worth’s largest free music festival, featuring more than 100 local, regional, and national musicians, including Marcia Ball, Maceo Parker, The Killdares, Luke Wade, and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.

Dallas Wings Draft Party
The news may have passed you by, but Dallas-Fort Worth is now home to a WNBA team, the Dallas Wings. It's the third incarnation of the team that began as the Detroit Shock in 1998. The team will kick off its inaugural season on Thursday with a draft party at College Park Center on the UT Arlington campus, where the Wings will be playing their home games. Guests can tour the facility; watch the draft on the Jumbotron from the seats; and enjoy the action on the court below, where there will be several speakers and a uniform unveiling.

Improv Arlington presents Rob Stapleton
Raised in the Bronx, Rob Stapleton has become a fan favorite nationwide thanks to his energetic style. His talent can be seen on Showtime's Mike Epps and Friends Live at The Nokia, as well as his very own special on Comedy Central Presents and his performance on P. Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy on HBO. He'll perform six sets Thursday through Sunday at Improv Arlington.

Magnolia at the Modern presents Francofonia
Combining documentary elements with fiction, Aleksandr Sokurov's history of the Louvre during the Nazi occupation is a meditation on the meaning and timelessness of art. The latest in the Magnolia at the Modern series, Francofonia will screen six times Friday through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

Casa Manana presents Seussical Jr.
For the final production of its 2015-2016 Children’s Theatre season, Casa Manana will present Seussical Jr. In this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza, all your favorite Dr. Seuss characters come to life, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie, and Jojo the Who. The production, which starts on Friday, will play at Casa Manana Theatre through May 8.
