Those Summer Nights
Leave the kids at home for this new summer rock concert series in Fort Worth
There are plenty of summer music series for the whole family to enjoy, but the Foundry District in Fort Worth is introducing a new series aimed squarely at adults.
Called Thursday on the Rocks, the series will feature Fort Worth bands exclusively, for an audience that must be 18 or older.
The first bands on the docket, June 7, will be headliners The Hendersons, a Beach Boys and Beatles-inspired rock n’ roll band, plus an opening soulful acoustic set from blues-rock musician Matt Tedder.
The second concert, June 21, will feature headliner Mountain Kid and opening act Le Qube. Concerts will take place every other Thursday through August 16.
Staged in the the Foundry District's yard and Inspiration Alley, each event also will offer picnic tables lined with arts and crafts, where guests can create an art project. There will also be a large, interactive community installation where attendees can create a temporary artwork.
In addition, local vendors will line Inspiration Alley for shopping. Beer, wine, and specialty cocktail will be served at cash bars.
All events will have a $7 cover charge at the door.
The Foundry District is a newly rehabbed six-acre industrial development adjacent to 7th Street and the Museum District. It is home to businesses such as The Lathery, M&O Burger, CitySurf, Cowtown Marathon, Clay Pigeon, Carmen Rose Photography, and others.
