Swedish pop star Robyn will perform at Irving's Toyota Music Factory
Swedish sensation Robyn is coming to Dallas-Fort Worth: The singer, songwriter, producer, and fearless blond sprite is bringing her Honey Tour to The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, where she'll perform on October 15.
Tickets go on sale August 9 at 10 am at LiveNation.com.
Robyn first emerged in 1995 when she was only 16 with her brilliant debut album, Robyn Is Here. A thoughtful alternative to the otherwise shallow pop that ruled the day, it produced two top 10 singles, "Do You Know" and "Show Me Love." Her depth, work ethic, and dynamic, authentic live performances have earned her a dedicated following.
Honey is her sixth album, released to great acclaim in 2018, and the first in eight years since her 2010 album, Body Talk.
In a release, she says that she wasn't sure she would make another album.
"I wanted to make an album, but I couldn't," she says. "I didn't know how to make an album. I didn't know what kind of music it was supposed to be. It just felt really pushed and contrived."
In the interim, she worked on multiple side projects, releasing collaborations with Royksopp, Kindness, Mr. Tophat, and the La Bagatelle Magique EP, among others. She also has her own record label, Konichiwa.
Collaborators on Honey include Mr. Tophat, Adam Bainbridge, aka Kindness, Zhala, who is on her Konichiwa label, and Klas Ahlund, her long-time collaborator.
She began the Honey tour in February, and is currently doing festivals in Norway, Finland, and Sweden.
The Irving date is one of three newly announced cities that also include Detroit and Columbus, Ohio. The dates all surround a previously-scheduled appearance at the Austin City Limits music festival on October 13.
The dates are as follows:
October 8: Detroit at Masonic Temple Theater
October 10: Columbus at Express Live! (Outdoors)
October 13: Austin at Austin City Limits
October 15: Dallas-Fort Worth at Toyota Music Factory
