Coronavirus Comeback
Fort Worth's long-shuttered Studio Movie Grill finally reopens to the public
Studio Movie Grill Chisholm Trail has finally reopened its doors, welcoming moviegoers Friday, December 17 — just in time for the release of one of the most anticipated movies of the year, Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The reopening has been a long time coming. The location was first announced way back in March 2020, just as the pandemic hit. They turned their lights on for about five months, from August 2020 to January 2021, before closing again due to a lack of new movies at the time.
Studio Movie Grill announced in July 2021 that the theater, located in The Shops at Chisholm Trail at 5413 Sierra Springs Lane, would open at some point in fall 2021. The December 17 opening lets them hit that goal just under the wire.
Other films featured on opening weekend include West Side Story, Encanto, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, House of Gucci, and National Champions.
The 10th Studio Movie Grill location in Texas, the theater features 12 screens, over 1,200 luxury leather recliners, and the same in-theater dining experience available at all other locations.
As one of the chain's newer prototypes, the theater features a whole new bar design, lowered ceilings, controlled lighting levels, and new kitchen designed for speed and efficiency, time, and motion.
