The FIFA World Cup may be dominating North Texas headlines this summer, but one of Fort Worth's most cherished sporting traditions will be front and center first: The Charles Schwab Challenge is returning to Fort Worth's Colonial Country Club from May 28-31 for its impressive 80th edition.
About 10,000 fans a day are expected to descend on the tournament to cheer on the sport’s top players (including Justin Thomas, Hideki Matsuyama, Ludvig Åberg, Rickie Fowler, and defending champion Ben Griffin) and get a rare look at the historic Colonial course, which is otherwise closed to the public.
The tournament has evolved greatly in recent years with the addition of numerous new fan experiences, including all-inclusive ticket options with endless food and drink, an air-conditioned family zone, an interactive performance center complete with swing analysis and putting competitions, and even (non-wagering) table games like blackjack and craps.
Here's everything you need to know about tickets, parking, tee times, food, family activities, and navigating the tournament.
How much are Charles Schwab Challenge tickets?
Tickets for the Charles Schwab Challenge range greatly from general admission to VIP upscale experiences. All tickets are sold through Ticketmaster and pricing below does not include fees.
General admission grounds tickets: The most affordable option to attend the tournament are grounds tickets that provide fans with the ability to walk the entire course, including the practice facilities, gain access to all public venues, including the Fan Shop and Schwab Performance Center, purchase food and beverages throughout the course (including at the Food Truck Fairway near holes 1 and 2) and stand right along the rope line to watch the world’s best PGA TOUR players. Prices: Wednesday and Sunday - $50, Thursday, Friday and Saturday - $85.
Villages tickets: Debuting last year, this all-inclusive ticket option provides fans with access to four unique “villages” around the course, each with unlimited buffet-style food, liquor, beer, wine, indoor and outdoor covered seating, and snacks available all day. Ticketholders enter at the VIP Poolside Plaza presented by Bank of Texas for cocktails, bites, and photo ops upon arrival. Other Villages include the ULTRA Club that wraps around the par 3 8th green, the Village at Hole 16 which offers front row views of the course’s final par 3, and the three-story Choctaw Club located above the 18th green and 10th fairway.
Back this year are the free-to-play casino table games sponsored by Choctaw Casinos inside The Choctaw Club - an addition festival organizers say was "overwhelmingly positive." Patrons can partake in blackjack and craps with real dealers to compete for prizes while sipping a Choctaw Crush, this year’s signature Choctaw Club cocktail made Tito’s vodka and strawberry lemonade. Choctaw is also bringing back live DJ music, photo ops, and free swag.

Can kids attend the Charles Schwab Challenge?
Bringing the kids? Cool off in the Tarrant Roofing Family Zone, located across from the 10th tee. The air-conditioned space is for families with children 15 and under and features kids’ activities like coloring and crafts.
If the kids are avid golf fans, don’t miss the Kids Autograph Zone, located at the lower putting green near the 10th tee.
Note that children 15 and under receive free grounds admission when accompanied by a general admission ticket holder, however premium areas require a ticket for everyone older than 2.
Sunday Military Flyover
During Sunday’s final round, players, caddies, fans, and the CBS TV crew will pause for a 40 second moment of silence to honor men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. Listen for the horn that will signal the pause.
