Bedford company to auction guns from Clint Eastwood and Frank Sinatra

Gun presented to Frank Sinatra
A Bedford auction house will be offering a passel of celebrity guns including a trio of weapons used in the 1985 film Pale Rider.
According to a release, three on-screen Remingtons used by Eastwood in the film will be offered in an auction hosted on December 5-7 by Rock Island Auction Company, a Bedford company famous for selling historic arms.
The Remington revolvers all play pivotal roles in the film's finale. Each revolver is documented and invoiced through Stembridge Gun Rentals, the Hollywood prop supplier.
Clint Eastwood wore all three hats as director, producer, and lead actor in Pale Rider, starring as "Preacher," the title character, a role that would cement his legend as one of cinema's last true gunslingers. The film was a critical and commercial success and helped repopularize the Western genre in the 1980s.
Hosted at the company's venue in Bedford, the selection features other famous guns linked to celebrities like Frank Sinatra and Roy Rogers, as well as Wild West legends like Buffalo Bill and Bat Masterson including:
- Chuck Connors' Winchester Model 92 carbine documented as used on screen in his portrayal of Lucas McCain in the Western TV series The Rifleman
- Roy Rogers' Colt Single Action Army presented by Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier of World War 2 and film star
- A Smith & Wesson Model 29-2 presented to Frank Sinatra in 1976 after his return to live performing
"Clint Eastwood is a huge presence in American cinema," says RIAC President Kevin Hogan. "For many, Eastwood represents the raw American West, the quintessential image of frontier justice. To have three revolvers Eastwood wielded on-screen hit the auction block is a rare opportunity for Western fans and film collectors."
Eastwood's revolvers will be offered on the morning of Friday, December 5, the same day as Chuck Connors' Winchester, which was one of the two specially modified Winchester Model 92 lever action carbines used onscreen for the show. It comes with documentation from Rifleman's producers and Stembridge Gun Rentals, a presentation plaque to Connors on the stock, and a Winchester Model 94 Deluxe carbine presented to Connors directly from the Winchester company.
Rock Island Auction Company's final Premier Auction of 2025 will feature nearly 2,000 lots that can be examined starting at 10 a.m. on Preview Day, December 4th, the day prior to auction.

The Smith & Wesson Model 29-2 presented to music legend Frank Sinatra in 1976 after his return to live performing is a highly embellished piece accompanied by a hardwood case topped with a silver plaque that reads "TO FRANCIS ALBERT SINATRA/FROM THE GANG AT HARRAH'S/MARCH 12, 1976".
The Smith & Wesson (pre-auction estimate $35,000-$55,000) is embellished by Master Engraver Alvin A. White's near-full coverage floral scrolling and the crooner's gold inlaid initials, "FAS."
In 1971, Sinatra announced his retirement from performing live, but then slowly returned to the stage, dealing with vocal cord issues early on because of his prolonged period without singing. By 1976, he made 172 concert appearances including 10 concerts at Harrah's in Lake Tahoe.
"Items with a Hollywood connection draw a lot of attention at auction, especially when it's a household name like Sinatra's," Hogan says. "It's a gorgeous piece, but also marks a sort of 'second wind' of his career. It's a significant period in Sinatra's life."
