Country star Ella Langley will debut the official music video for her smash hit “Choosin’ Texas” at 5:30 pm Wednesday, April 1. And when it drops, Fort Worth fans may spot a familiar backdrop: the historic Stagecoach Ballroom.
Langley and her team clandestinely shot the video at the Fort Worth dance hall, according to iHeartRadio, which was first to break the news the morning of April 1.
"Thank you for Choosin' Texas & The Stagecoach Ballroom. Fort Worth loved having you, @ellalangleymusic," the venue posted in an Instagram story on April 1, along with a screen shot of the IHeart Radio article.
Parties involved included producer Lukas Lennon, the Fort Worth Film Commission, and Visit Fort Worth.

Langley, who directed the video herself, involved an all-star cast and crew.
In a video trailer posted to Instagram on March 31, a 23-second clip provides a quick glimpse of the A-list cast, including actor Luke Grimes Yellowstone, Marshals), Miranda Lambert (the song's co-writer), and actress Ava Phillipe (daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe).
“I think the guy that I’m in love with is in love with somebody else,” Langley says to Lambert in the clip, alluding to overall theme of the song – losing a guy to another girl.
The teaser begins with Langley and Grimes sitting together in the front seat of an older Chevrolet pickup truck hitched with a trailer heading to Abilene, the Texas city mentioned in the song.
Quick clips to follow indicate a love triangle between Grimes, Langley, and Phillipe, with peeks of the Stagecoach Ballroom’s neon beer signs, its year-round Christmas lights strung on the walls, and wooden dance floor that’s popular for weekend Texas two-stepping – the style of dance mentioned in the song several times.
Lambert is seen briefly performing on stage, playing a guitar. The entire trailer plays like a TV drama, with Langley closing it out in song, “He’s choosin’ Texas, I can tell.”
The video was co-directed by Wales Toney and Caylee Robillard and includes cameos by Texas country artists Wade Bowen, Casey Donahew, and Tanner Usrey, along with country musician Kaitlin Butts and professional bull rider J.B. Mauney, among others.
"Choosin' Texas" hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early February and spent four non-consecutive weeks at the top (breaking Taylor Swift’s previous record for the longest-running No. 1 by a female country artist). But until now, there's been no video.
The Stagecoach Ballroom will host an Ella Langley album release party for her sophomore album, Dandelion, on Friday, April 10. (Langley is not expected to be there.)
The event will include dance lessons, an album listening party, the "Choosin’ Texas" video on loop, and live music. It will also coincide with the Stagecoach Ballroom’s 50th anniversary.
It all comes ahead of Langley’s 16-city tour, set to kick off on May 7 in Toledo, Ohio with a stop at Dickies Arena on August 15.
This is not the first time the Stagecoach Ballroom has been in the national spotlight. In 1986, the dance hall – which is the oldest continually-running dance hall in Fort Worth – was used to film the movie Square Dance, which starred Rob Lowe and a young Winona Rider.
