It's another busy weekend of fun events around Fort Worth, especially on the performing arts front, with five local theater productions and a dance/theater presentation to choose from. Other choices include three concerts, a dinosaur exhibition, more haunted houses, monster trucks, and the opening of a notable art exhibition.

TCC Northeast Playhouse presents Lobby Hero
The moral climate proves challenging in Kenneth Lonergan’s Lobby Hero, set in the night-shift lobby of a Manhattan apartment building. Jeff, a young, aimless security guard, struggles to find purpose while dealing with William, his strict supervisor. A principled man, William faces his own dilemma when pressured to cover for his brother, who is implicated in a murder. The play depicts what happens when good intentions intersect with personal flaws. The production will have four performances through Saturday at Northeast Drama Playhouse in Hurst.
Circle Theatre presents Ain't Misbehavin': The Fats Waller Musical Show
Ain’t Misbehavin’ returns to Circle Theatre, bringing the music of Fats Waller to the mainstage. The vibrant musical revue celebrates the exuberance of the Harlem Renaissance, bringing the sounds of 1929 to life with infectious jazz, ragtime rhythms, and unforgettable songs. The production runs through October 25.
Dustin De La Garza in concert
Dustin De La Garza is a singer-songwriter from Eagle Pass, Texas. He released his debut EP, Cowboy’s Way of Life, in 2021, gaining him a loyal fanbase. His most recent release was the EP Old Country Songs in 2025. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Jurassic Quest
Jurassic Quest is an adventure through 165 million years of dinosaurs where visitors can view life-size dinosaurs from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, Ancient Oceans and Megalodon, Ice Age creatures, live dinosaur shows, baby dinosaur encounters, dinosaur rides, fossil digs, inflatables, crafts, and other interactive activities for kids. The event takes place through Sunday at Fort Worth Convention Center.
Casa Mañana presents Rapunzel! Rapunzel! A Very Hairy Tale
On the edge of glory, the evil Lady Za Za determines to rule the kingdom by keeping the beautiful Princess Rapunzel trapped in a tower in the deep, dark forest. Sir Roderick and his hairstylist friend Edgar (on a quest to find the perfect head of hair) go on a journey to rescue Princess Rapunzel and restore the kingdom. The production runs through October 18 at Casa Mañana.
Jubilee Theatre presents I'll Be Damned If...
I'll Be Damned If... is a play with music celebrating the life and legacy of Idlewild, the legendary Black resort community known as the "Motown before Motown." The new production, developed through Jubilee Theatre's New Works program, highlights the indomitable spirit of a woman who defies all odds to keep her dream alive. It runs through October 25 at Jubilee Theatre.
Upright Theatre Co. presents Misery
Misery follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. While Paul is convalescing, Annie reads his latest book and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel, and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go anywhere. The production runs through October 25 at Upright Theatre Company in Euless.
Haunted house openings
Now that we're officially in the month of Halloween, three more haunted attractions will open their doors to the public. They include Haunted Mead Manor in Alvarado, Fort Worth Haunted House in Fort Worth, and The Parker House in Denton. Each of the haunted attractions will remain open through at least October 31.
Texas Ballet Theater presents Casanova
Casanova strips away the legend to reveal a man driven as much by longing as by lust. Set against the opulence of 18th-century Venice, the visually stunning ballet blends Baroque grandeur with bold, cinematic movement. What emerges is not just a tale of seduction, but a portrait of a soul caught between indulgence and introspection. The production will have four performances through Sunday at Bass Performance Hall.
Chris Young in concert
True to his name, country singer Chris Young started at a relatively young age, releasing his debut album at the age of 21. He had five straight No. 1 singles from 2009-2011, and his songs have rarely been outside of the top 10 since. He's released 10 albums in his career, most recently I Didn't Come Here to Leave in 2025. He'll play on both Friday and Saturday at Billy Bob's Texas.

Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents "Celebración Sinfónica"
The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents "Celebración Sinfónica," a multi-cultural concert featuring works by Latin-American composers whose voices have been pivotal in classical music. Selections include Albéniz's Asturias, Ponce's Estrellita, Piazolla's Oblivion and Libertango, Puccini's I Crisantemi, and Still's Danzas de Panama. The concert takes place at Rose Marine Theater.
Monster Jam
Monster Jam features massive Monster Jam trucks and world champion drivers performing high-flying action and jaw-dropping stunts. Making its Texas debut will be The Amazing Spider-Man Monster Jam truck, joined by classic trucks like Grave Digger, El Toro Loco, Sparkle Smash, and more. The event takes place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Kimbell Art Museum presents "Photography’s First Century: Masterworks from the Bibliothèque Nationale de France"
"Photography’s First Century: Masterworks from the Bibliothèque Nationale de France," the Kimbell’s first-ever exhibition celebrating the art of photography, traces the history of the medium’s first century of exploration and discovery, from the rise of the Daguerreotype and the calotype in the 1840s to the age of modernism between the World Wars. The exhibition is drawn from the holdings of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, which holds one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of photographs in the world. It will remain on display through January 17, 2027.
