Indie pop rock act The Lemonheads brings comeback tour to Fort Worth

The Lemonheads have released their first new music in almost two decades.
Pull out your old flannel shirts: The Lemonheads, the decades-old indie pop-grunge act founded in Boston in 1986, have mounted a heroic comeback, with a tour that will weave through Texas, inluding a surprise stop in Fort Worth at Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall on December 14.
The tour, which will also stop in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio, is in support of their 2025 album, Love Chant — their first original material released in nearly 20 years which is receiving widespread critical acclaim.
The tour and album come on the heels of a recent memoir by Lemonheads frontman Evan Dando called Rumors of My Demise, which covers the band's early years, Dando’s struggles with substance abuse, and pre-Internet celebrity, dating ‘90s icons such as Winona Ryder, Kate Moss, and Milla Jovovich.
The songs on Love Chant were written with a who’s who of collaborators including J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr, Juliana Hatfield, The Moldy Peaches’ Adam Green, Pavement’s Bryce Goggin, and The Bevis Frond’s Nick Saloman.
The tour appears to be focused on the new material, so there’s no guarantee fans will hear hits like “It’s a Shame About Ray” or the smash cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s "Mrs. Robinson."
Tickets start at $19 and top out at $75.50 for reserved seating, with a four-ticket limit per customer. Fans unfamiliar with the new music can get ahead of sing-alongs by streaming Love Chant here.
