There are relatively few new events happening in and around Fort Worth this weekend, but the ones that are taking place are bangers. They include two local theater productions, screenings of an acclaimed new film, a chance to party on the stage of a big venue, four concerts (including two with massive stars), and the opening of a notable art exhibition.

Stage West Theatre presents The Cottage
It’s 1923, and Sylvia Van Kipness is done being discreet. She’s tired of being secretly whisked away to this English countryside cottage for her annual tryst. So she’s decided to expose her affair to both her husband and her lover’s wife with a series of scandalous telegrams, turning this tranquil cottage into a hotbed of hilarity. Manic hijinks ensue as a web of infidelity is hilariously revealed in this saucy, side-splitting romp. The production, making its regional premiere at Stage West, runs through August 30.

Magnolia at the Modern: Sheep in the Box
Set in the near future, Otone Komoto works as an architect. She is married to Kensuke Komoto, who runs a construction company. The married couple decide to welcome a humanoid robot into their home as their son. The film, which explores the complexities of love, memory, parenting, change, and loss, will have seven screenings through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Performing Arts Fort Worth presents Party on the Stage
Bass Performance Hall’s annual Party on the Stage brings the lights of Broadway to Fort Worth. Guest can enjoy tastes and sips of New York City, custom souvenirs, backstage tours, and exclusive giveaways. The event is put on by Performing Arts Fort Worth's Young Patrons Club.
Theatre Arlington presents 33 Variations
You don’t have to know Beethoven to find yourself thoroughly absorbed by the theatricality with which playwright Moises Kaufman has tied a historic event. The legendary mystery surrounding one of Beethoven’s compositions links to a drama about a fatally ill Beethoven scholar, her relationship with her daughter, and the daughter’s burgeoning romance. Drama, memory, and music combine to transport audiences from present-day New York to 19th century Austria in this American play. The production runs through August 30 at Theatre Arlington.
Aaron Lewis and the Stateliners in concert
Aaron Lewis, formerly the lead singer of the rock band Staind, moved into country music in 2012 and that's where he has put most of his focus ever since — save for the 2023 Staind album, Confessions of the Fallen. Country fans have welcomed him with open arms, as all of his albums have ranked high on the Billboard Country charts, including his 2024 album, The Hill. He'll play with his band The Stateliners at Billy Bob's Texas.

Amon Carter Museum of American Art presents "The Statue of Liberty from Bartholdi to Warhol"
The Amon Carter Museum of American Art will open "The Statue of Liberty from Bartholdi to Warhol," an examination of the Statue of Liberty’s enduring relevance in American visual culture and the evolution of its image from the 1870s to the present. Bringing together nearly 100 artworks and objects from more than 70 artists, the exhibition explores the statue’s varied manifestations from artistic marvel and pop culture icon to symbol of immigration, patriotism, and resistance, and how successive generations of artists have represented its iconic form over the past 150 years. The exhibition will remain on display through January 3, 2027.
Ella Langley in concert
It was less than a year ago when country singer Ella Langley made her debut at the relatively small Billy Bob's Texas. But that concert came precisely one day after the release of her single, "Choosin' Texas," which became a massive No. 1 hit and earned her enough fans to justify an arena tour. Three more top 10 hits have followed off of her sophomore album, Dandelion, portending a big career to come. She'll play at Dickies Arena.
BTS in concert
Arguably the biggest concert(s) of the summer in Dallas-Fort Worth, K-pop band BTS is making their big comeback after a scheduled hiatus that allowed the young band members to complete their compulsory military service in South Korea. Now they're ready to conquer the world again, starting with their new album, Arirang, and a world tour that will include shows on Saturday and Sunday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Roger Creager in concert
Country singer Roger Creager has been plugging away at his career for over 20 years, but it's only in the last 10 that he's started to get some national acclaim. Creager has released seven albums in his career, including 2014's Road Show, which made it to No. 20 on Billboard's Country Albums chart. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.
