After a long wait, Flix Brewhouse has finalized plans for a location at the Shops at Broad in Mansfield, with a scheduled opening date in fall 2023.

The nine-screen luxury theater, which will become the chain's 10th overall location across six states and fifth in Texas, was originally scheduled to open in 2020 until construction stopped with the COVID-19 shutdown.

Flix Brewhouse, which claims it is "the world’s only first-run dine-in cinema brewpub," has signed a 15-year lease with Shops at Broad for a nearly 40,000-square-foot facility. It joins a booming area, with Tarrant County's first H-E-B scheduled to open nearby in 2024.

The Mansfield location will be the chain’s new prototype theater, featuring all nine auditoriums equipped with parabolic screens, state-of-the-industry digital audio and video, custom recliner seating, and proprietary “Easy Glider 2” sliding, pivoting tabletops.

Moviegoers will be able to enjoy in-theater service featuring a complete cooked-to-order menu, as well as a broad selection of soft drinks and adult beverages.

Their signature, of course, is the craft beers they brew on the premises. The Mansfield location will feature a dozen choices made by their own brewmaster. Guests can take in the brewpub experience with or without a movie.

“We are beyond thrilled to at last bring our unique brand of dining and entertainment to life in Mansfield," said Allan Reagan, Flix founder, in a statement. "A long, strange trip it’s been indeed, but the delay has enabled us to invest in the latest cinema technology such as 100% laser projection, offer compelling entertainment choices beyond movies, and evolve our food and beverage offerings to best-in-class."

According to Shops at Broad spokesperson Sam Kartalis, the shopping center has seen an increase in leasing activity since it changed owners in December 2022. Kartalis also says that the new movie theater "will be the linchpin for additional planned major entertainment concepts coming soon to Shops at Broad.”

In addition to first-run movies, Flix Brewhouse offers screenings of throwback favorites through fan events, family movie parties, beer dinners, and more.
