Fort Worth Rooftop Cinema Club returns for spring with new movie lineup and special screenings
After a brief break for winter, Fort Worth's Rooftop Cinema Club, located on top of The Worthington Renaissance Hotel, has released its schedule for the first two months of spring - one that's full of themed programming and special anniversary screenings.
Screenings will kick off on Thursday, March 9 with Legally Blonde, the first of a collection of films celebrating many of cinema's pioneering women both in front of and behind the camera for Women's History Month.
The first week, which leads up the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 12, is dubbed Awards Week and will also include a variety of Oscar-nominated films, including Elvis, Top Gun: Maverick, The Fabelmans, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Other themed programming over the first two months will include Hollywood on Hollywood, featuring some of the best movies about La La Land (including La La Land); What a Feeling!, featuring some of the most iconic dance movies to ever hit the big screen; 4/20, featuring hilarious and classic stoner comedies on April 20; and more.
Special anniversary screenings will include the 30th anniversary of The Sandlot, 40th anniversary of Flashdance, and 15th anniversary of Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
There will also be recurring special screenings like Sing-Alongs, dog-friendly Wooftops, and Open Caption screenings
Tickets ($16.50–$26.50) are now on sale at rooftopcinemaclub.com/downtown-ft-worth for screenings through April 30. Additional screenings will be announced later this spring.
Opened in fall of 2022, Rooftop Cinema Club quickly became one of Fort Worth's favorite alfresco activities. For tips and things to know before you go, check out this story.
