Ultimate guide to spring break 2026 family fun around Fort Worth

While traveling for spring break can be a fun way to spend time together as a family and forget about school and work, there's no need to leave town to have a great week. Plenty of fun options can be found around Fort Worth in 2026.
We've compiled a big guide to events and activities happening during spring break, which takes place between March 14 and 22 for most students in the area.
The options below are mostly aimed at families; head to CultureMap's calendar for an even longer lost of things to do during that time. Bookmark this page and check back, as the list will grow as more events are announced.
Amusements
Peppa Pig Theme Park, North Richland Hills. Peppa Pig Theme Park has been open for just over a year, and it's quickly become a go-to destination for families. The park, aimed at preschool age children, features five rides, seven themed playscapes, a water play area, episodes of Peppa Pig playing on a big screen, and more. If you want to buy a season pass, they're running a special pre-spring break sale for $79.99 (normally ($99) for the annual pass or $99.99 (normally $250) for the Texas Annual Pass, which also gives you access to Sea Life Aquarium, Legoland Discovery Center, and Peppa Pig World of Play at Grapevine Mills, as well as Sea Life Aquarium and Legoland Discovery Center in San Antonio.
Six Flags Over Texas, Arlington, The amusement park opened for the season on February 28, allowing thrill seekers renewed access to its various roller coasters, rides, and other experiences. They're offering a spring special for anyone who wants to buy a Gold season pass, dropping the price down from $99 to $70, which also includes free parking and access to all Six Flags and Schlitterbahn parks in Texas. The new Tormenta Rampaging Run won't open until later in the year, but visitors can get a look at the progress on the tallest, fastest, longest, and only giga dive coaster in the world. Open daily during spring break at 11 am.
Meow Wolf, Grapevine. The experiential art exhibition inside Grapevine Mills is a great place to visit at any time, but for spring break, March 14-22, they're adding an extra activity called Brain Bean Buddies. Using the Meow Wolf app, families can explore the exhibition with a photo scavenger hunt and crack a plant-themed crossword. Anyone who completes the activities can earn prizes and discover how creativity, nature, and imagination grow better together. Open daily at 9 am.
Fort Worth Stockyards. Throughout the month of March, the Fort Worth Stockyards will host weekly rodeos on Thursdays-Saturdays, and the occasional Sunday, at Cowtown Coliseum. With the first weekend of spring break almost coinciding with St. Patrick's Day, they'll also put on the annual Cowtown Goes Green celebration on March 14, featuring live music, armadillo races, lawn games, pony rides, an Irish-Western parade, and more.
Museums & Exhibitions
Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is unveiling its newly reimagined TCU Children’s Gallery in time for spring break. The gallery, which has been closed for renovation since last fall, now features interactive spaces and hands-on experiences that teach young children to use their imagination, cooperate with others, and step into the roles of doctors, farmers, performers, and more - all in a Fort Worth-themed environment. It is designed for children up to age 8 and their caregivers.

Fort Worth Museum of Science and History also presents Spring Break Kick-Off Party - Families can celebrate the start of spring break on March 14 with this special event, featuring hands-on crafts and activities, a chance to test soccer skills with the Fort Worth Vaqueros, playtime with bubbles, and treats from local favorites like Melt Ice Creams, Beyond the Box Catering, and Lemon Tina Lemonade. There will also be a meet-and-greet with the museum's dino mascot, Dynamo. The event takes place from 10 am-2 pm.
Kimbell Art Museum presents Spring Break Art Extravaganza - From March 17 to March 20, kids and families can enjoy a variety of ongoing activities at Kimbell Art Museum, including art making, gallery activities, story times (available in English and Spanish), and more. The museum, which is free to enter, is open daily at either 10 am or 12 pm depending on the day.
The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth presents Art Break! Spring Break at the Modern - During this special spring break event, taking place March 16-20, The Modern will encourage families to slow down, stop, and learn a little bit more about some favorite works from their permanent collection and new special exhibition, Rashid Johnson: A Poem for Deep Thinkers. Each station includes a conversation with a community artist and Modern docent, and a gallery project focusing on selected works in the galleries. As a bonus, admission is free for all at the Modern during those five days, and complimentary hot dogs and lemonade will be given to kids at Café Modern on Monday, March 16. The museum opens daily at 11 am.
Amon Carter Museum of American Art presents Spring Break at the Carter: Focus on Photos - Kids and families visiting the Carter from March 17-20 can spend spring break taking snapshots at the museum. The event includes gallery games, art-making activities, creativity challenges, and more inspired by Carter artworks and history-making photographs in their current special exhibition, "Black Photojournalism." While the museum opens at 10 am daily during those days, the event itself runs from 1-4 pm. Admission is free.
The Fort Worth Botanic Garden recently opened its annual Butterflies in the Garden event, the largest exhibit of live, exotic butterflies in North Central Texas. Visitors will have the chance to see a diverse collection of butterflies from various parts of the world, including the popular Blue Morpho. The event opens daily at 10 am.

Fort Worth Aviation Museum presents Spring Break Craft Day - On Wednesday, March 18, Fort Worth Aviation Museum will complement their collection of vintage airplanes and indoor permanent exhibitions with a special craft day. They will have a variety different types of crafts available for kids, who will get in for free when accompanied by an adult.
Sid Richardson Museum presents Spring Break Open Studio: Moving Pictures - To go alongside their current special exhibition, "The Cinematic West: The Art That Made The Movies," the museum will host a special spring break event where kids can swing by their studio classroom for some cinematic, creative fun. The event will be open from 1-4 pm, March 16-20. Admission to the museum is free.
Arlington Museum of Art presents "Game of Thrones: The Exhibition," which showcases an immersive collection of original costumes worn by the iconic characters, props from the show, and a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the groundbreaking series. The exhibit features more than 60 meticulously crafted costumes from all eight seasons, from Daenerys Targaryen’s regal dragon-scale gowns to Jon Snow’s battle-worn Night’s Watch gear. Open daily through April 5.
City of Grapevine presents Prehistoric Park - More dinos will be on display at Grapevine's Meadowmere Park in the return of this annual event. Visitors can learn about Grapevine’s prehistoric past while roaming a walkthrough exhibition of animatronic dinosaurs with hands-on activities for the whole family. Guests can visit during the day or experience the excitement of Dinos After Dark, which will feature themed events on select dates. Open daily, March 14-29.

The Lone Star Hi-Railers present Train-A-Palooza, Grapevine - The annual Train-A-Palooza include sales tables, working model train layouts, and train-related toys. Exhibitors include TCA North Texas Chapter, North Texas T-Track, North Texas Brick Society, Texas Special, On30 Outlaws, Merle Wait, and DFW O Scale Modelers. The Choo Choo Express trackless train will provide train rides in the parking lot. Open on March 14 and 15 at Grapevine Convention Center.
Theater
Mid Cities Arts Collective presents Anne of Green Gables, North Richland Hills - The classic novel about an orphan girl, Anne Shirley, comes to life on stage, going from her first encounter with her austere guardian to her thrilling graduation from Queen's Academy. There will be four performances - March 14 and 15 and March 20 and 21 - at Platinum Music Complex NRH.
Disney On Ice: Jump In! at Dickies Arena - In the latest Disney On Ice production, classic characters Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy use the Magical MousePad to journey into the heart of other Disney tales, including Moana 2 and Inside Out 2, bringing new characters like Anxiety to the ice for the first time. There will be eight performances, March 19-22.
Casa Mañana presents The Spongebob Musical - Spongebob Squarepants, the iconic optimistic sponge, goes on a quest to save his fellow fish from certain doom in The Spongebob Musical. When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their home, SpongeBob and his friends must band together to save their aquatic world. The musical - featuring a score by artists like Cyndi Lauper, David Bowie, Sara Bareilles, John Legend, and Panic! At the Disco - is presented here in a "Theatre for Young Audiences Edition." It will run March 21-April 12 at Casa Mañana Theatre.
Music
Fort Worth Botanic Garden presents Blooms & Beats - The spring portion of the monthly Blooms & Beats, a family-friendly series that combines the beauty of nature with the joy of music and local flavors, will kick off on Friday, March 13. Guests can enjoy spring in the Garden while listening to live music performances by local artists. There will also be offerings from Fort Worth food trucks, yard games, and a selection of adult beverages.
The Cliburn presents Cliburn Kids on the Road - As part of their continuing outreach to the community, The Cliburn will present a series of special Cliburn Kids on the Road concerts around the area during spring break. They'll be at Golden Triangle Library and East Regional Library on March 16, Southwest Regional Library on March 18, Burleson Public Library on March 19, and Clifford Crossing Library on March 21. Hosted by Sara Doan and featuring pianist Cecilia Kao, each features a 45-minute interactive program that blends music, movement, storytelling, and word games to spark creativity and inspire reading, writing, listening, and imagination.
Movie Nights
Movie lovers can enjoy some al fresco entertainment during spring break as Levitt Pavilion in Arlington presents Disney's Encanto on March 18 and Disney/Pixar's Cars on March 19.
