The list of new events in and around Fort Worth this weekend is small but mighty, with more World Cup games, a Broadway musical, and a mini-residency by a big rock band leading the way. Other choices include screenings of a new film, a visit from a Dallas choir, a comedian, and two country concerts.

FIFA World Cup games
Dallas Stadium in Arlington was given the most matches of any venue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup — nine — but with five of those coming in the Group stage, those games have gone quickly. This weekend will see the final two games played at the stadium before the knockout rounds —Japan vs. Sweden on Thursday and Jordan vs. Argentina on Saturday. (Get ready for more Messi Mania.)
Broadway at the Bass presents The Notebook
Based on the best-selling novel that inspired the iconic film, The Notebook tells the story of Allie and Noah, both from different worlds, who share a lifetime of love despite the forces that threaten to pull them apart. The musical is a deeply moving portrait of the enduring power of love. The production will have six performances through Sunday at Bass Performance Hall.

Magnolia at the Modern: Jimmy & the Demons
In the documentary Jimmy & the Demons, celebrated artist James Grashow is given the biggest commission of his life and begins an exhilarating challenge that brings more than he bargained for. With a combination of endearing humor and angst, Jimmy searches for meaning in his extraordinary masterpiece. There will be seven screenings through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Turtle Creek Chorale presents Pride As Big As Texas
The Turtle Creek Chorale will celebrate Pride Month with Pride As Big As Texas. The concert shines a spotlight on the music and creativity of Texas, featuring works by artists like Willie Nelson, Kacey Musgraves, and Beyoncé, alongside compositions by Marques Garrett, Victor Johnson, and others. The concert takes place at Broadway Baptist Church.
Rush in concert
Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic band, as well the life of drummer Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020. The band will play two sets each night, with each show featuring a distinct selection of songs. Rush will build each night’s setlist from a catalogue of 35 songs, including their greatest hits and fan favorites. They'll play at Dickies Arena on Friday, Sunday, and next Tuesday, June 30 and Thursday, July 2. (The last date is rescheduled from a sudden cancellation on Wednesday, June 24.)
Improv Arlington presents DeRay Davis
DeRay Davis is quickly killing Hollywood with his hilarious humor and persona. His film credits include Jumping the Broom, Semi-Pro, Old Dogs, Life as We Know It, and more. On the small screen, DeRay has appeared in HBO's Entourage, Comedy Central's Reno 911, BET's ComicView, and others. He'll perform six times through Sunday at Improv Arlington.
Jackson Wendell in concert
Up-and-coming country singer Jackson Wendell is one of the latest Texas musicians to make waves, coming out of Lufkin and releasing his first single at the age of 17. Now 21, Wendell has released 10 singles in his career, most recently "Devil's Hardwoods" in 2025. He will make his debut at Billy Bob's Texas.
