These are the 7 best things to do in Fort Worth this weekend
The last weekend in August will be a little slow on the new events side of things in and around Fort Worth, with a visit by a big-name rapper leading the way. Other choices include a home and garden show, screenings of a new film, two comedians, a Texas country singer putting on two shows, and a symphony concert highlighting music from a popular video game series.
Below are the best ways to spend your free time this weekend. If you want more options, check out the calendar for an even longer list of the city's best events.
Thursday, August 27
Lil Wayne in concert
Rapper Lil Wayne loves the name Tha Carter for his albums, as he's used it for six of them in a nod to his birth name, Dwayne Carter Jr. With this tour, he is not only celebrating the release of his latest album, Tha Carter VI, but also paying tribute to the long series, which started in 2004 with the original Tha Carter. Each of his albums that was widely released has come in at either No. 1 or No. 2 on Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop chart, and all but one of them made the top 10 on the overall Billboard 200. He'll perform at Dickies Arena.

Fort Worth Fall Home & Garden Show
The annual Fort Worth Fall Home & Garden Show provides attendees with everything they need to solve their home and garden projects under one roof. Visitors can browse the latest in kitchen, bath, and flooring; speak face-to-face with home building professionals; sample the newest home technology; envision the outdoor oasis of their dreams; shop home essentials; save money with show-only discounts; participate in family activities; and more. The event takes place through Sunday at Will Rogers Memorial Center.
Magnolia at the Modern: Late Fame
Adapted from a 19th-century novella by the Austrian author Arthur Schnitzler, Late Fame is set in modern-day New York. When current postman and long-ago poet Ed Saxberger (Willem Dafoe) is rediscovered by aspiring writer Wilson Meyers (Edmund Donovan), he is drawn into the orbit of an eccentric group of young creatives, including Gloria (Greta Lee), a captivating singer and actress. The character study satirizes artistic pretension as it explores creativity, youth, aging, and what it means to be a successful artist. The film will screen seven times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Improv Arlington presents Bill Bellamy
Using his experiences growing up in Newark, Bill Bellamy started doing stand up while he was a student at Rutgers University. Charley Crockett in concert
Charley Crockett is a Texas original who has made his own path in the country genre. He's as relentless a music producer as anybody out there, as he's released at least one album every year since 2014, including two in 2026 alone, Age of the Ram and Clovis. The second album marks his first release since leaving the major label, Island Records, which put out his previous three records. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas on both Friday and Saturday.
