Prom dress drive
Teens can 'shop' for free gowns at prom dress giveaway in Arlington
The Ogle School in Arlington will host a prom dress giveaway event on Saturday, March 14.
High school students in search of their dream prom dress can browse and "buy" them for free at the annual Prom Dress Giveaway hosted by Ogle School in Arlington.
The event will take place 9 am-2 pm Saturday, March 14 at the school’s Arlington campus on Park Row Drive.
According to organizers, an entire floor will be transformed into a dress boutique, where students can look through dresses in sizes from 0 to 26. Private dressing rooms and assistants will be available to help attendees find the right fit, and refreshments will be served to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
Students from all local high schools (not just those in Arlington) are invited to attend, and each student will be able to take home a dress free of charge.
But first: They need dresses to fill the space. The school will be accepting dress donations ahead of the event through Friday, March 13. Community members, boutiques, and local retailers may contribute new or gently used dresses to help expand the selection available for students.
Donations can be dropped off at the Arlington campus through 8 pm Friday, March 13. Details are as follows:
Location: 2200 W. Park Row Dr., Arlington
Drop-off hours: 9 am-8 pm Monday-Friday
Donation deadline: 8 pm Friday, March 13
Those coordinating a donation can call 682-895-5715 or 817-460-8181 and ask for Ronnetta, Ms. Patricia, Ms. Stepfany, or Ms. Odaly.
The Ogle prom dress event is now in its fifth year. In 2025, organizers gave away 47 dresses and hope to double that number in 2026.
"With even more people facing hardships this year with the economy and job loss, our hopes for 2026 are to make even more high school young ladies' dreams come true by being able to attend their high school prom with less financial burden for them and their families," says Ronetta Johnson, Ogle School's Arlington campus director.
Founded in 1973, Ogle School is a NACCAS-accredited beauty school offering programs in cosmetology and esthetics, with hands-on training through student-powered salons.
