Two prominent Fort Worth female entrepreneurs have collaborated to create a first-of-its-kind work of art – and it’s one that doesn’t belong on a wall.

Peacock Alley, the iconic luxury linen brand founded by Fort Worth resident Mary Ella Gabler Bitzer in 1973, has partnered with Fort Worth-based artist Joey Lancaster to launch bedding inspired by Lancaster’s signature mixed-media floral compositions. Called the Ella Collection, the high-end duvet cover and sham set is Peacock Alley’s first-ever artist-inspired collection.

Lancaster, whose professional work appears in many Fort Worth homes as well as galleries and shows in Dallas, Aspen, and Miami, to name a few, says the collab combines two of her greatest loves: interiors and art.

“Translating my artistic approach into functional pieces like bedding – which can elevate a room in the same way art does – feels like a true dream,” says Lancaster.

The entire process – from palette selection to fabric choice, mill selection, and production – took more than two years to come to fruition. But the idea for the product proved to be a no-brainer within minutes.

The backstory: In 2023 Bitzer and Lancaster both attended a grand opening party for 61 Osteria, the downtown Fort Worth upscale Italian restaurant owned by Adam Jones, who is Lancaster’s husband. Winner of CultureMap Fort Worth’s Tastemaker Award for Restaurant of the Year in 2024, the restaurant is home an enormous three-canvas floral art installation by Lancaster that anchors the main dining room wall.

“I saw the art, loved it, and thought maybe it would translate to linens,” says Bitzer.

Cotton wasn’t a fit, but 100 percent European linen worked well for a more sophisticated feel, Bitzer says. Available in full/queen ($700) and king ($750), the luxe set comes in two colorways – Natural, which exudes hues of light tan, and Sky, which offers light blue tones. The linens are stonewashed for softness and ideal for summer thanks to its lightweight feel.

“We’re very pleased with the result,” say Bitzer.

Lancaster says flowers work well for all interior styles from traditional to modern. But the duo already has plans for other patterns to be added to the collection in the future, including Lancaster’s signature aspen trees and playful butterflies.
