BJ's Warehouse Club
An exciting new chain for discount shoppers is coming to Fort Worth: BJ’s Wholesale Club, a membership-based warehouse club making its way into Texas, will open a location in south Fort Worth, at 7241 Harris Pkwy., going into a new center off the Chisholm Trail Parkway.
They'll host a groundbreaking in early August, with an opening slated for 2026.
Founded in Medford, Massachusetts in 1984, BJ's is a membership retailer similar to concepts like Costco and Sam's Club. They offer savings on fresh foods, produce, deli items, bakery goods, household essentials, home décor, pet supplies, toys, consumer electronics, and more. Members love the "treasure-hunt" shopping experience, finding new and exciting items with every visit.
Member perks include:
- Discount grocery prices — up to 25 percent off regular grocery stores
- Risk-free membership: Shoppers can try BJ’s with a money-back guaranteed membership
- BJ’s coupons + manufacturers’ coupons: Members can combine BJ’s coupons with manufacturers’ coupons for maximum savings
Many members do their weekly grocery shopping at BJ’s, then fill up at BJ’s Gas.
Headquartered in Marlborough, the company pioneered the warehouse club model in New England in 1984 and currently operates 255 clubs and 190 BJ's Gas locations in 21 states.
In 2024, the company announced its intent to open several locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area starting in early 2026. In addition to Fort Worth, they'll also open locations in Forney, Grand Prairie, and Waxahachie.
“We are eager to continue our expansion by bringing unbeatable value, convenience and assortment to the Dallas-Fort Worth community,” said BJ’s Wholesale Club chairman and CEO Bob Eddy in a statement. “Economic expansion and a growing population make Texas a great fit for us. We believe our unique club model, which delivers savings of up to 25 percent off grocery store prices every day, will resonate with the families in this area. We look forward to living our purpose of ‘taking care of the families who depend on us’ in Texas."
In 2004, the company established the BJ’s Charitable Foundation to provide essential needs to families through local and national non-profit partnerships. The Foundation focuses its giving efforts on three main pillars: hunger relief, education, and health & wellness.
A statement says that BJ's "is excited to be part of the DFW community. This groundbreaking marks an important expansion for both the company and community as BJ’s will bring fresh, affordable products and new jobs to local communities. As more companies and residents move to the state, BJ’s is investing in its future, reinforcing Texas’ role as a national economic hub and positioning them to serve its growing consumer base."
