Two fabulous estate sales in Fort Worth began on September 12, both located in or around the Monticello neighborhood, a little over a mile apart, making for a convenient day of serious estate sale finds.
Each is spectacular in its own way: One contains a stunning array of high-end brand names from a legacy family in Fort Worth, while the other is a treasure trove of fine art and books.

The first is located at 404 Eastwood Ave., and is described as an "immense three-generation estate of a West Fort Worth family," in the Monticello-Crestwood area. (The family is the Compton family, led by famed attorney Eddie Compton.)

It's a four-day sale, from September 12-15, 9 am-4 pm, featuring a vast amount of art, antiques , jewelry, china and designer wear. That includes luxe names like Tiffany, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Lalique, Baccarat, Waterford, Judith Leiber, Roberta Di Camerino, Limoges, Saint John, Barker Ellis, and Chanel.

The second is located at 4009 W. 6th St., former home of Claranell Wampler Robin, a longtime high school English teacher and world traveler who passed away in January 2024, and who filled her home with an "explosion" of art, books, art, tasteful furniture, gardening supplies, and more.
It's a three-day sale that runs from September 12-14, 9 am to 4 pm.
The sale boasts nearly 100 pieces of quality art and five stained glass panels, plus thousands of books ranging from English literature, sociology, and museum art. There is modern and vintage clothing, Persian rugs, quilts, gardening pots and tools, antique and modern furniture, a pair of Modern Verner Panton colored chairs, vintage rattan, Biedermeier lamps, and antique bird's eye maple desk caddy. There's a modern Wassily black leather & chrome chair, antique English furniture, Hoosier, Gibson antique oak ice box, and more.
There are original pices from artists Stephen Rascoe, Nancy Lamb, Tom Abbott Winters, Lorrie McClanahan, J.
