Celebrate the Year of the Tiger this week with two tasty events marking Chinese New Year. Girl Scout Cookie season also continues this week with two more pairing events — one with beer and the other with wine. There’s also a free gin tasting, a not-so-free eight-course bourbon pairing dinner, a charcuterie class paired with frozen margaritas, and the grand opening of a new bar in a familiar space.

The Dogwood Grand Opening
The Dogwood Fort Worth, a new bar at 1100 Foch St. (formerly the short-lived Punch Bowl Social, and before that, Times Ten Cellars), celebrates its grand opening with a night of libations and live music. Doors open at 4 pm, Texas country artist Roger Creager goes on stage at 7 pm, followed by DJ Aiden Brasher at 10 pm. There'll also be ice luge and shotski activations, cocktails from Deep Eddy Vodka, and a food menu until 10 pm. The event is free to attend.
Girl Scout Cookie Pairing at Two Brothers Winery
The Keller wine bar will pair five wine varietals with five different Girl Scout Cookies during this sweet tasting event, which will run from 6-8 pm. The $25 price also includes a souvenir wine glass.
Garrison Brothers Chef Pairing Dinner at Café Modern
Arrive hungry as there’ll be eight courses at this bourbon dinner featuring Garrison Brothers “bourbon evangelist” Hunter Hein, who’ll guide guests on nosing and tasting fine bourbon. Each course will be paired with a bourbon cocktail or neat pour. Standout menu items include prime steak tartare with black garlic; scallops with white chocolate orange sabayon; and a duck trio including foie boudin. Tickets are $185 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and dinner starts at 6 pm.
Charcuterie with Me at Muy Frio Margaritas
Sip on a frozen marg while creating a tasty charcuterie board to take home at this hands-on class, led by Queso + Carne. The class is $65, plus purchase of margaritas. The popular margarita and daiquiri shop has several flavors to choose from, including mango, blue coconut, and classic margarita. Class begins at 6:30 pm.

Visit the downtown Fort Worth hotel bar and restaurant for a complimentary gin tasting. Learn about the gin-making process and the history of the Roxor brand. Come and go anytime between 5-7 pm.
Lucky You Chinese New Year Pop-Up at Rahr & Sons Brewing Company
Celebrate the Year of the Tiger at this beer and bao bun dinner event at Rahr. The menu includes choice of bao bun (made with sweet, white dough typically filled with meats), two Rahr beers, and a souvenir pint glass. Choose from beef ($23), pork belly ($23), shrimp ($25), and tofu ($22). The event begins at 7 pm.

Asian New Year Celebration at Mason & Dixie
The Grapevine Southern restaurant will welcome guest chef Hao Tran of The Table Market & Culinary Studio for a six-course dinner celebrating the Chinese New Year. Menu highlights include edamame truffle dumplings, banh mi crostinis, and five-spice chocolate cake. Each course will be paired with wine or sake. Tickets are $100 per person and the event begins at 7 pm.

Girl Scout Cookie Pairing at Legal Draft Beer Co.
The Arlington brewery will pair five different Girl Scout cookies with five-ounce pours of five different beers. The menu includes Toast-Yay! with Legal Grounds Coffee Lager; Adventurefuls with Accused Amber Lager; Lemonades with Mangoes Free gluten-free mango IPA; Caramel deLites with Fall Guys spiced amber ale; and Peanut Butter Patties with Legal Holiday. The $20 pairing is available anytime from 1-5 pm. Don’t leave the kids at home — there’s a $15 option for cookies paired with Moot Beer — the brewery’s non-alcoholic root beer. Note that tickets must be purchased in advance.
