This week in gluttony
These are the 6 best food and drink events in Fort Worth this week
This weekend is all about the boozy picnics. Funky Picnic Cafe & Brewery is celebrating its second anniversary with a big, tented party, while TX Whiskey is inviting people back to the Ranch with an afternoon picnic. There's also a chill ice cream social, an Italian wine dinner, and not one but two events that involve painting.

Summer Social with MELT Ice Creams at Worthington Renaissance Hotel
"Because it's summer." That's really the only excuse you need to unwind with ice cream, instead of cocktails, at an after-work happy hour. The downtown Fort Worth hotel is hosting an ice cream social that's free to attend and open to anyone, from 5-7 pm. Cool off with complimentary (yes, free!) scoops of MELT handcrafted ice cream, or indulge in a margarita for $5, while mingling in the lobby lounge. It's meant to be a networking event, so stop by solo or meet up with friends. No RSVP required.

Live Painting and Artist Meet & Greet at 97 West Kitchen & Bar
Hotel Drover's 97 West Kitchen & Bar will host "A Spirited Night with Laura Goodson," who has two paintings hanging in the new Stockyards hotel. Attendees can nosh on hor d'oeuvres, sip on sparkling wine and signature cocktails, listen to live music, meet the artist, and watch as Goodson paints a new work, which will then be sold in a silent auction benefiting ACH Child & Family Services. Tickets to the two-and-a-half-hour charity benefit are $175, available here.

Funky Picnic Brewery & Cafe 2nd Anniversary Party
Funky Picnic Brewery and Black Cat Pizza will celebrate two years in business with an event that expands into the parking lot (and don't worry, an outside tent and tables will be set up for shaded outdoor dining). There'll be beer stations and food options, and they'll be tapping several specialty beers for the special occasion. A wristband gets guests three 10-ounce pours of their choice of beer. Guests can purchase a commemorative enamel campfire mug for an additional beer pour. The event takes place 12-6 pm, and tickets with wristbands are $15.
Picnic Day at TX Whiskey Ranch
Whiskey Ranch, the Fort Worth home of TX Whiskey, is officially back open for visits and events. They're hosting a picnic for guests (21+ and up) to enjoy great eats, drinks, and beautiful views of the downtown skyline. Ticket price of $65 includes admission for two people, a commemorative TX Whiskey picnic blanket, two drink tickets, and two picnic snack boxes. Note that an 11 am time slot is sold out, so the last remaining window is 2-4 pm.
