This roundup of dining news around Fort Worth has some shocking closures with a number of restaurants saying their goodbyes. There are also openings, limited-edition items, and new menus.

Lili's Bistro on Magnolia is closing, after nearly 20 years. Chef-founder Vance Martin is retiring but is working with new buyers to maintain the brand’s success and legacy. His last day is May 31.
Mesa Mexican Cuisine, a Mexican restaurant that had been in Grapevine for seven years, is closing, effective Saturday, May 31. According to a post from the owners, their lease had come to an end. They encouraged diners to visit their sibling restaurant Big Fish Seafood Grill on Main Street for the same Texas hospitality & delicious fare.
Hoppin' Fort Worth·, a cool place that brought self-serve beer on tap to Fort Worth's Foundry District, is closing. Originating in Charlotte, N.C. in 2017, Hoppin’ has a high-tech system wherein customers can serve themselves, tallying their self-poured drinks and reducing time. Owners Michael and Holly Brittner opened the concept in August 2024, after moving home to be close to family. In their goodbye note, the couple thanked everyone, stating that they had "put heart and soul into creating what we hoped would be the best place to spend time with family or friends in Fort Worth. Unfortunately, this chapter must come to an end." There is also a Hoppin' Grapevine with different owners which remains open.
Bodacious BarBQ, an old-time barbecue restaurant that had been in business for 40 years, will close in August. The restaurant started out in Longview before relocating to Arlington where it was open for 34 years, a half mile from AT&T Stadium since August 1991, serving old-fashioned pit=smoked barbecue executed by owner Fran Ruegsegger, who has been smoking and cutting for 37 years. The restaurant was originally founded by Roland Lindsey in Longview in 1960. The owners thanked their customers, stating that they had become more like family and friends, and it was their loyalty that allowed them to stay in business for so long.
Rise Souffle, the small Dallas-based chain dedicated to souffles in all varieties, has opened a new location in Southlake at 2001 W. Southlake Blvd. #155. This is their sixth location, joining Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, Houston, and Tulsa. "We are so excited for this new adventure and cannot wait for the endless memories, marshmallow soups, and soufflés that are to come!" the restaurant says.
Put a Cork In It, a wine shop in the TCU area, is relocating from its current address at 2972 Park Hill Dr. to a new storefront in the same shopping center. The new space will allow them to offer wine classes and sit-down tastings with winemakers. "We don’t have the big box store inventory but every bottle is selected with care and intention. Our focus is on family owned wineries and natural made wines — small supporting small," says co-owner Chris Keel. They're hoping to be in the new space mid-June.
HTeaO, the iced tea chain, is opening a location at 4765 Golden Triangle Blvd. on May 31. This will be the chain's second Fort Worth location. The chain is also launching a limited time caffeine-free Sweet Cherry Iced Tea available at all locations June 1-July 31.
BreadHaus, the European-style bakery in Grapevine, has a new partnership with Walmart as part of the Local Finds program. Now customers throughout Dallas-Fort Worth can now order chocolate chip cookies, lemon mini cakes, apple mini cakes, sourdough, Bavarian Rye, and Oma's Multigrain directly through the Walmart site or app and have it delivered within a 15-mile radius through Walmart’s delivery network. Also, there’s the option to order online and pick up directly at the BreadHaus bakery.
Cheba Hut is introducing Cool Ranch Doritos Not’chos, stacked with melted cheddar, jalapeños, onions, black olives, hot sauce and a ranch drizzle. It's a new version of their Not'chos -- this time with Cool Ranch flavor instead of the Nacho Cheese flavor they use on the original recipe. Not'chos start at $6.49.
Fish City Grill and Half Shells has three new dishes on the menu: Peruvian cobia tacos for $16, smoked trout dip for $14, and blackened Texas redfish, gulf shrimp and crab meat butter for $28.
Hawaiian Bros has three new wraps. The Molokai Mac Wrap features sweet and spicy molokai chicken, mac salad, and white rice; Huli Huli Wrap has Teriyaki-glazed Huli Huli chicken, fresh pineapple, crisp romaine lettuce, crunchy noodles, and white rice; and Pacific Island wrap has Romaine lettuce, mandarin oranges, Huli Huli chicken, island vinaigrette, crunchy noodles, green onions, cilantro, and white rice.
Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe has a new watermelon salad and sweet peach tea on the menu. The watermelon salad features watermelon, roasted pecans, feta and fresh basil on a bed of leafy spinach, and protein can be added. The salad is $8, peach tea is $2. Available through August 10.
HTeaO is launching a limited time Sweet Cherry Iced Tea a delicious and naturally caffeine-free flavor available for a limited time through July 31, 2025. Sweet Cherry Iced Tea will be available at all participating HTeaO locations beginning June 1. Available as cup, half-gallon, or gallon.
Handel's Ice Cream is releasing frosted animal cookie ice cream for its 80th anniversary featuring cake-flavored ice cream with a vanilla frosting ripple and frosted animal cookies mixed in. Available starting June 3.
Sonic is launching a new lineup of sweet topped lemonades combining lemonade with cold foam on top available in three flavors: classic lemonade, strawberry, and blueberry lavender. They're also bringing back watermelon and lemonberry slushes and introducing cheesy garlic pepperoni bites.
McDonald’s is expanding its late-night hours to midnight nationwide. Exceptions will be McDonald’s in non-traditional locations such as airports and shopping malls.
Shiner has partnered with FC Dallas for a new ¡Órale! beer. It's a light-bodied Mexican lager with two-row barley and agave nectar. The co-branded beer will be served exclusively during FC Dallas matches at Toyota Stadium in Frisco. A 16-ounce can is $12.
