Mr Gatti's, the pizza chain, is now open inside Walmart at 1035 Hickory Blvd. This is one of the 15 locations that's opened under Mr Gatti's partnership with Walmart offering a full menu that includes pizzas, wings, salads, and sandwiches.
Hot Spot Gyro is a family-owned sandwich shop serving authentic Middle Eastern and Greek cuisine now open at 2727 8th Ave., in a small center across from a Fiesta supermarket in southwest Fort Worth, not far from TCU. Their menu includes gyro sandwiches plus hummus, tabouleh, Greek salad, shawarma wraps and bowls, falafel, wings, appetizers, and desserts.
Sol Dias, an independenly owned Mexican ice cream and treats shop, has opened a location in Watauga at 8004 Denton Hwy. #154, with a menu of paletas, shakes, gansito cakes, churros, and street food snacks like elotes dipped in hot Cheetos. They have seven locations in Texas including four in or around Waco, plus two others in the DFW area in Haltom City and Irving.
Burleson Farmer's Market is open for the summer with produce, handmade goods, and BBQ from Walnut Creek Farm. Vendors include Leman’s kitchen baklava, Palacios Kitchen quick breads, BeachBum Tribe beef jerky, TX Boba Tea, El Dulcero Candy Co., Cactus Cooking kolaches and Czech buchtas pastries, Naturally Bliss Bakery Easter sourdough breads and dinner rolls, Magikal Stardust produce and canned goods, Sweet D’s Lemonade, Frostbite Bake Shoppe fried pies, Luxe Crumble Co cookies, Amore Napoletano Ristorante pizza, Pinto Thai food truck, Southern Farm Girl giant sourdough fat cinnamon rolls, Lotta Enchiladas & Tamales, Waffle Co. waffle sticks and crepes, Daily Zucchini Bread, LoveTAB candy apples, Moretti’s olive oils, and dozens more. They're located at 141 W. Renfro St. and are open every Saturday from 9 am-1 pm.
Breadhaus, the Grapevine bakery, is doing a whole suite of seasonal specials that include hot cross buns, Portuguese sweet bread, Portuguese cookies, and Easter cookies. The hot cross buns will be available through April 20.
Ravelin Bakery, the acclaimed bakery in Denton, is doing hot cross buns, available April 18-19, plus Easter cookies, plus Italian Easter bread, baked in the shape of a dove, made with candied citrus and a special almond topping.
Central Market has their version of hot cross buns, soft and sweet, with raisins and candied orange peel, sold in a 4-pack for $5.
Tacodeli has a new taco on the menu: the al pastor taco features pork marinated in house-made adobo, topped with jalapeño escabech. Available for a limited time for $6.
Newk's Eatery has added the pesto pasta chicken salad to the permanent menu for $12. Plus, the new spring menu includes the pesto chicken sandwich, chicken Caesar wrap, broccoli cheddar soup, and coconut cake for $5.29-$11. The spring menu is available through June 22.
Thirsty Lion Gastropub has a new spring menu featuring Mediterranean meatballs, spicy sausage and ground beef with Harissa and panko, garden power bowl, BBQ pulled pork sandwich, and miso & orange glazed salmon for $12-$26. They've also added a Southern peach crisp with cinnamon glaze, orange zest, pecan oat streusel, passion fruit caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream for $12.
Logan's Roadhouse has a new Real Deal value meal starting at $12. It includes an entrée, one side, a salad, a drink and bottomless rolls. Entrees include peppercorn bacon chicken sandwich, All-American cheeseburger, wood grilled chicken dinner, and beer-battered fish.
El Chico has new Mama's Flavoritos cocktails featuring a sangria swirl and a guava 'rita, each for $7.50. April 15 through July 14 at Rockwall, Richland Hills, and Pantego locations.
World of Beer Bar & Kitchen has a new spring menu featuring three items: Caprese burger with flame-grilled Angus beef patty melted mozzarella, roasted grape tomatoes, and peppery arugula, finished with creamy pesto aioli on a toasted brioche bun; mango habanero wing sauce; and Ruby’s Grand Dreamsicle, a blend of Skyy Vodka, Aperol, Grand Marnier, orange juice, ruby red grapefruit and Stiegl Radler.
Jimmy John's has a new Toasted Hot Combo, or the T.H.C. Box, in honor of 4/20. It features the choice of one of Jimmy John’s new crispy and gooey toasted sandwiches such as the chicken bacon ranch or roast beef and cheddar, paired with any flavor of chips, a Jimmy Pickle spear, and a sweet treat starting at $13.
