Fort Worth's acclaimed Blackland Distillery hits national stage

Blackland Distillery spirits are now available in all 50 states.
A Fort Worth distillery is headed for the big stage after only six years: Blackland Distilleryhas officially expanded nationwide and its products are now available in all 50 states.
Backed by Terlato Artisan Spirits and distributed by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, the coast-to-coast launch marks a defining moment for the spirits brand.
Blackland Distillery comes from attorney-turned-chef-turned-distiller Markus Kypreos, who launched Blackland in 2019 with a mission to combine culinary artistry, technological precision, and Texas ingredients into a bold new vision for American distilling.
The distillery produces seven distinct offerings: Vodka, Gin, Rye Whiskey, Bourbon, Texas Brown Sugar Pecan Bourbon, Texpresso Whiskey, and Prairie Gold Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
“This is the moment we’ve been working toward since day one,” Kypreos says in a statement. “We started small but we dreamed big, and now, just six years later, we’ve scaled nationwide. This expansion through our partnership with Terlato is incredibly rewarding and gives us access to retailers and markets that once felt out of reach. We’re not just representing Fort Worth – we’re showing the entire country what Texas spirits as a whole are capable of, and we’re doing it in a big, bold way.”
Through Terlato’s national network and Southern Glazer’s distribution expertise, Blackland spirits are available in select retail stores, bars, and restaurants across the country.
Blackland's rapid growth is fueled by its tech-forward approach to heritage distilling, combining grain-to-glass sourcing with advanced production methods. The distillery utilizes computerized pot and column stills (iStills) and stainless-steel mash tuns to create clean spirits with consistent flavor profiles.
This technical precision, guided by Kypreos's culinary background, has earned Blackland's small-batch spirits numerous industry accolades, including recognition as a Top 10 Best New Craft Distillery in USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Travel Awards (2021), Double Gold medals at the Proof Awards for Vodka and Rye Whiskey (2020), and Gold medals at the 2023 Texas Whiskey Festival for their Rye Whiskey and signature Texas Pecan Brown Sugar Bourbon.
Blackland will continue operating its acclaimed cocktail lounge and tasting room in the heart of Fort Worth. The flagship space serves cocktails, public tastings, distillery tours, and private events. It has been nominated for Bar of the Year in CultureMap's prestigious Tastemaker Awards.
