2 Chipotle locations to open in Fort Worth area with trendy drive-thru
The burrito king is expanding: Chipotle Mexican Grill, the California-based chain specializing in tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and bowls made to order, is opening two new locations in the Fort Worth area.
Both new locations feature the brand’s buzzy Chipotlane, a drive-thru pickup lane that allows guests to pick up digital orders without leaving their cars.
There are 20 locations in the Arlington-Fort Worth area, threee of which are Chipotlanes: 4100 Hwy 360, 6301 N. Beach St., and 7100 Blue Mound Rd.- Kennedale Chipotlane: 5320 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale. Opening September 3.
- Arlington Chipotlane: 4422 S. Collins St., Arlington. Opening in mid-September.
Both locations mark a first: The Arlington Chipotle is the first in Arlington to feature a Chipotlane, while the Kennedale Chipotle marks first Chipotle in Kennedale.
Chipotle’s menu features bowls, burritos, quesadillas, salads and tacos with topping options ranging from chicken, steak, carnitas, black beans, and brown rice. The fast casual chain, founded in Colorado in 1993, allows customers to build their own bowls and burritos — an approach that has had a galvanizing effect on the restaurant industry. How many restaurants have been described as "Chipotle-style"? Many.
Chips & salsa, really good guacamole, and beverages such as lemonade and sodas are also available.
The Chipotlane format was first introduced in the U.S. in early 2018, then made its debut in 2019, giving guests (and delivery drivers) a fast, convenient way to pick up orders. According to the Sacramento Bee, new restaurant openings that feature this digital order pick-up lane have demonstrated higher volumes and greater returns than a regular Chipotle restaurant.
Chipotlanes operate differently than traditional drive-thru lanes. There’s no dining room. You pick up your digital order through the Chipotlane drive-thru or a walk-up window; there's an outdoor patio if you want to eat on-site.
According toRestaurant Dive, Chipotle opened 271 restaurants in 2023, 238 of which included a Chipotlane. By February 2024, the chain had more than 800 restaurants with mobile pickup lanes, and plans to open another 200 this year.
