Dirty Dough known for thick decadent cookies to open in Southlake
Who doesn't love cookies, surely not Southlake, which will soon be home to its own location of Dirty Dough, a cookie chain based in Utah that's opening a new location at Wyndham Plaza shopping center at 2600 E. Southlake Blvd. #170, in what was previously a dental office.
According to a company spokesperson, it'll open at the end of October.
Dirty Dough was founded by Bennett Maxwell, a student at Arizona State Unversity who started the concept out of his dorm room in 2018, before opening his first brick and mortar location in 2020.
The chain is known for having "stuffed, gooey, and flavor-packed cookies," which they claim are often referred to as "super-stuffed cookie bombs." If you love a thick cookie, this is going to be your thing.
Their cookies are decadent, featuring unusual combinations of layers, mix-ins, or fillings which make for good photos, and everyone knows that's something you want in a cookie.
Marketing director Abby Pastors says they "have a unique look because the toppings are actually inside the cookie instead of on top," setting them apart from cookie competitors who just have huge cookies.
They offer a range of flavors, including classic and rotating weekly specials that emphasize creativity and seasonal themes. The cookie lineup changes weekly but classic flavors include:
- Stuffed Chocolate Chip
- Reverse With Reese's — like a Reese's Cup, except the outside is a peanut-butter cookie and the filling is a chocolate fudge — topped with crushed Reese's Cups just to remind you of the inspiration.
- A “brookie” (brownie + cookie), filled and drizzled with caramel
- Raspberry Toaster Tart, A Pop-Tart style cookie stuffed with jam
Some of their rotating weekly flavors might include Pumpkin Pie, Sweet-Tater-Role, Buckeye Brownie, and Cinnamon Toast Cookie.
You can order them online for pickup or delivery, or just go and buy them in the store. A single cookie is $4.89 (let's call it $5), or you can order a half dozen for $25 and a dozen for $47, so there is a little discount if you buy more than one.
The concept was acquired by Utah-basedd Craveworthy Brands (Wing It On!, Genghis Grill, BD’s Mongolian Grill, Flat Top Grill, Pastizza, etc.) in 2024 and currently had more than 65 locations around the U.S., with 15 in Texas including Plano, Frisco, Fort Worth, Arlington, and Allen.
Bringing the concept to Southlake are franchisees Bob and Mamta Shori, who have a grand opening event scheduled for October 29, just in time for Halloween, let's hope spooky cookies are involved.
