How to kick off the start of May, let us count the ways: Cinco de Mayo, Kentucky Derby watch parties, a Star Wars-themed holiday, and a royal coronation. All are on the list this week in the form of several restaurant and bar events. It’s also the unofficial start of rosé season, and there’s an event exclusively for “drinking pink,” too.

Thursday, May 4

May the Fourth Be with You at Tributary Café
The Cajun and Creole comfort food restaurant on Race Street will host a Star Wars-themed pint night partnering with Rahr & Sons Brewing Company. Visit from 4-8 pm for a crawfish boil on the patio, live music by Ginny Mac, and a silent auction featuring vintage Star Wars memorabilia. The $20 entry fee at the door includes crawfish served family-style, one draft beer, and a pint glass to keep. Reservations are encouraged.

Prairie Gold Straight Texas Bourbon Whiskey Launch at Blackland Distillery
Fort Worth’s most modern, high-tech distillery and tasting room is launching its first straight bourbon whiskey. Called Prairie Gold, the 100-proof straight bourbon whiskey is aged at least three years in new American oak barrels and is made with a blend of 80 percent yellow corn and 20 percent tritcale, a wheat and rye hybrid. Be among the first to get a bottle ($100, 750 ml) before it hits liquor store shelves. The new spirit will also be available to be enjoyed neat or on the rocks. Blackland Distillery will open at 4 pm.

Friday, May 5

Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration at The Bearded Lady
Visit the South Main Street gastropub and restaurant for a Cinco de Mayo fiesta. Sip $5 margaritas while shopping Wandering Roots Markets vendors. There’ll be live entertainment and kids’ crafts, too. The festivities will run from 4-8 pm.

Cinco de Mayo at Blue Mesa Grill
Celebrate Cinco with a street taco buffet at this longtime Southwestern-inspired Mexican food destination. The $25 buffet will include brisket barbacoa, ground beef-chorizo, chicken verde, grilled chicken, pulled pork, and grilled vegetables. Even more, there’ll be blue corn cheese enchiladas, coconut lime rice, smoky black beans, sweet corn cakes, homemade desserts and more. Pair with the happy hour $5 Blue Margarita, mojitos, well drinks, and house wines. The buffet will start at 4 pm.

Prix-Fixe Menu Weekend at Aventino’s
The beloved West Fort Worth neighborhood Italian restaurant will pause its regular menu to serve a special prix fixe menu Friday and Saturday. Courses include rosemary focaccia mozzarella, house salad, choice of osso bucco or shrimp pomodoro, and tiramisu for dessert. Reservations are $45 and may be made between 5:30-8:30 pm.

Saturday, May 6

Coronation Celebration at The Londoner
The British pub in Colleyville dedicates the day to celebrating the coronation of King Charles III. From 5 am (when the coronation service starts in London) to 10 am, they'll be broadcasting events live and serving coffee and tea, scones & crumpets, and bacon/egg/toast for breakfast. Reserve a spot here. Regular brunch with tea and scones will be served from 11 am-3 pm. A signature cocktail called "His Majesty" along with English Rosie & Pimms Cup cocktails will be offered at a discount all day. TX Whiskey’s Down & Derby Day
Catch the most exciting two minutes in sports during this day-long Kentucky Derby watch party at Whiskey Ranch. Wear your Derby-themed best for a chance to win prizes and to receive 10 percent purchases in the Ranch Store. There’ll be live music by Katsuk from 2-4 pm along with TX Mint Juleps, food trucks, a photo booth, and races streaming from the Oak Room and Tavern TV. Admission is $10 and includes your first cocktail. The party will run from 12-7 pm.

Rosé Soiree at Hotel Vin
The wine-focused Grapevine hotel will host its third annual Rosé Soiree. Guests can drink pink when sampling more than 50 rosés and special rosé cocktails and enjoying light bites, live music, and a floral wall for photos. The event will take place on the Wine Yard lawn from 3-6 pm (and if it rains, the party will move inside.) Tickets are $85, plus tax and a small fee.

Sunday, May 7

Mariachis and Menudo at El Chingon
Cure your Cinco de Drinko hangover at this festive West7th district bar and restaurant. El Chingo will host a mariachi trio starting at 2 pm and feature menudo as the day’s special. The traditional Mexican soup, made with spicy broth, hominy, and beef broth, is a popular Sunday dish and will be priced at $11.
