Buzzy Mansfield center signs up 5 new restaurants including Portillo's
Thriving Mansfield center The Shops at Broad has ramped up its game with the addition of five national restaurants to its tenant list - including cult-favorite Chicago-style hot dog chain Portillo's.
This will be the chain's first location in Mansfield, and the sixth in the DFW area.
But that's not all that's coming to the Shops at Broad, which will welcome four other major names:
- Outback Steakhouse
- Carrabba's Italian Grill
- Boomer Jack’s Grill
- Chuy’s
According to a release, the new tenants are slated to open in for the holiday season of 2024.
Their arrival promises to make an already buzzy intersection even buzzier. The Shops at Broad is at the same corner of US-287 and Broad Street across from where H-E-B is planning its first store in Tarrant County.
“The addition of these well-known retailers not only enhances the retail selection available at The Shops at Broad but also represents a significant investment in the local economy, with new job opportunities for the community,” says John Hutchinson, Co-CEO and global head of origination at Trez Capital, which currently owns the development.
"We remain committed to increasing business at the center and these five new, high-quality tenants continue to fuel our progress after acquiring the property at the beginning of 2023," Hutchinson says.
Recognizing the importance of the shopping center as a driver for the city, Mansfield officials have stepped up to expedite the permitting process and other steps to make sure Mansfield remains a draw.
Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans and Jason Moore, executive director of Mansfield Economic Development Corporation, most recently helped with the re-opening of the new Flix Brewhouse, the world’s first-run cinema brewery. Flix Brewhouse signed a 15-year lease with The Shops at Broad for a nearly 40,000-square-foot facility. The theatre opened in September 2023.
Co-asset managers of the property, Sam Kartalis with Younger Partners, and John R. Weber with Weber & Company have also generated momentum. Younger Partners Property Services, LLC was hired to manage the property.
“With the addition of these new national tenants, The Shops at Broad continues to raise the bar in offering a diverse array of shopping experiences,” said Kartalis. “The caliber of these select retailers is contributing to the reincarnation of The Shops at Broad, a big enhancement from what the city initially expected from the prior developer.”
