Homey affordable Perkins American Food to make Texas debut in Crowley

Pancakes and eggs from Perkins American Food Co.
A family-dining restaurant brand known for its homestyle meals, all-day value, and iconic bakery, is coming to Texas: Perkins American Food Co., founded in 1958 as a single pancake house in Ohio, will open its first location in Texas in Crowley, with an opening date targeted for fall 2026. Where exactly in Crowley it is, they do not say. Standing by for address!
According to a release, this is part of a big expansion into Texas — for the first time in the company's 65-year history — marking a milestone in the brand’s ongoing revitalization. The Crowley location will showcase the company’s new prototype, following the successful debut of its flagship store in Orlando, Florida earlier this year.
Perkins American Food Co. started out as Perkins Pancake House, but has morphed and expanded over the years. They serve American classics with generous portions and reasonable prices. They currently operate nearly 300 company-owned and franchise locations across the U.S. and Canada, and are owned by Ascent Hospitality Management.
Grounded in tradition and their key pillars of value, quality, and service, Perkins boasts the same ethos since its founding in 1958, but with a new attitude.
The reimagined concept blends the nostalgia of Perkins' history with a contemporary approach, both in design and on the plate through a new menu, keeping a focus on American classics but also modernizing these dishes to meet current trends.
They're best known for breakfast classics such as omelets, benedicts, French toast, "griddle greats," and a Build-Your-Own-Breakfast option. But they also have a notable in-store bakery with a wide selection of fruit pies, cream pies, cookies, and their signature Mammoth Muffins.

The new menu introduces options such as shareable appetizers, a "lighter eats" section, burgers, handhelds, and Perkins plates such as pot roast served with two home-cooking-style sides such as real mashed potatoes with brown gravy, mac & cheese, tater tots, or fresh sauteed spinach, for $13.29.
The Crowley debut is shepherded by local husband-and-wife entrepreneurs Shaikh Satter and Sanjida Khatoon, who own and operate several 7-Eleven stores in DFW. Satter calls it "a special moment" for their family.
"We’ve been successful in the convenience store space for years, and now we’re excited to explore a different business venture in the restaurant space,” Satter says. “Perkins offers an authentic American dining experience with a new state-of-the-art concept that we are delighted to bring to our community."
Peter Ortiz, who is Chief Development Officer for Ascent Hospitality Management, parent company to Perkins American Food Co., says they're delighted to welcome Shaikh and Sanjida to the Perkins family, and will "lean on their entrepreneurial spirit and expertise."
