Opening date rises for biscuit & chicken restaurant in Fort Worth
The chicken & biscuits are finally (almost) here: Rise Southern Biscuits & Righteous Chicken, which specializes in fried chicken and biscuits made throughout the day, is ready to open its first location in Fort Worth. According to a release, Rise Fort Worth, located at 7064 Blue Mound Rd. in Victory Shops in Basswood, across from Saginaw High School, will open November 23.
The quick-serve concept will be open from 7 am - 2 pm daily.
Rise Fort Worth is owned by husband-and-wife Ashwin Reddy and Isha Vedire, and it's their second location, following the first Rise location which they opened in Victory Park, Downtown Dallas in May.
Rise is open for breakfast and lunch and serves boxed chicken & biscuits, sandwiches, sweet treats, sides, and coffee.
Their buttermilk biscuits are made from scratch throughout the day, then filled with savory ingredients ranging from bacon and sausage to fried green tomatoes.
Breakfast boxes featuring grits and potatoes topped with proteins and sauces round out the breakfast offerings.
At lunch, you can get the Righteous Chicken in a box with sides, or else in a sandwich where the chicken is sauced and topped, such as their sandwich with "Boom Boom" sauce and pickles.
Their signature side is Tots, in plain or Cheddar. They also serve Counter Culture Coffee both hot and iced, and desserts such as a glazed blueberry biscuit and biscuit cinnamon rolls.
Rise was originally founded in 2012 by Culinary Institute of American trained chef Tom Ferguson in Durham, North Carolina. The concept previously premiered in Dallas-Fort Worth in April 2017 in Allen, back when it was known as Rise Biscuits & Doughnuts. It was rebranded in 2019.
Ferguson rebooted the concept, cutting back on the doughnuts and changing the name, which gave it a second life. Sadly, he died in 2022, but the concept has persevered, and currently has locations across North Carolina, Kansas, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, and California.
Rise Fort Worth will celebrate its Grand Opening starting at 7 am with drawings for free food and prizes, including free Rise for a year for one winner.
“We look forward to serving our scratch-made breakfast biscuits and Righteous Chicken for lunch in Fort Worth and know diners are going to fall in love with the food and tech- forward, fast-serve concept,” Reddy says in a statement.
