Cigar lounge and restaurant fires up in Arlington near AT&T Stadium

Cigar and an old-fashioned at Smoke Chemistry in Arlington
A cool new cigar spot has debuted in Arlington: Called Smoke Chemistry Social, it’s a unique and creative cigar lounge with a chemist lab theme, now open in a former event venue at 1003 N. Collins St., near AT&T Stadium.
Smoke Chemistry is from first-time business owners James Williams and his wife, Crystal, who wanted to bring something different for adults to the entertainment district. He’s also a sergeant with the Fort Worth police.
“Within the last 10 years, I started smoking cigars with a group of guys and we were always smoking in somebody’s backyard,” Williams says. “My first shot at it was building a cigar lounge on the back of my house. It’s a place where we all smoked cigars. I had lounge chairs, games, refrigerators, and TVs. So that was the start of the concept."
The patio serves as the cigar smoking area there's a humidor manager who manages the cigar selection. They have 150 cigars in stock with brands such as Fat Bottom Betty and Isla Del Sol Rob. Cigars start at $5 and top out at $27.50 for a Placencia Cielo.
The lounge doesn’t have a membership fee, but a cigar purchase is required, or else visitors can bring their own cigars with a $20 cigar cutting fee.
Williams' original vision was strictly a cigar lounge, but the city of Arlington requires that food also be served, so he opened the space as a cigar lounge and restaurant.
The menu by chef Maurein Flood features tacos, shrimp scampi flatbread, pastas, chicken wings, fried shrimp baskets, and fried catfish baskets. Prices average around $20-$30.
Williams' favorite dish is the oxtail eggroll appetizer with smoked oxtail, cabbage, and onions, with a side of Jamaican seasoned ranch for $20.
They’ve also added weekend brunch on Saturdays and Sundays featuring chicken & waffles, breakfast tacos, and Cajun fried shrimp & grits.
There are two bars featuring crafted cocktails with names like Chemical Combustion and Smoked Fusion, or classics like margaritas and Long Island iced teas. It’s set up like a lodge, with wood ceilings and walls, brown lounge chairs, booth and couch seating, and a patio.
Smoke Chemistry also hosts hookah plus DJs, live musicians, and game nights.
