Hyatt Place opens as the first and only hotel right next to TCU campus
Hyatt hotel has opened what is the first and only hotel located right next to the campus of Texas Christian University (TCU): The Hyatt Place Fort Worth/TCU is a six story hotel at 3029 Sandage Ave., in what used to be a parking lot at the corner of West Berry Street.
According to a release, the hotel has six stories and 150 rooms, with 3,500 square feet of meeting and event space.
Entertainment amenities include Lot 12, a rooftop bar overlooking the TCU campus; and two Top Golf Swing Suites, where you can practice your swing in a virtual setting.
While most convenient for TCU, the hotel is also convenient to the Fort Worth Medical District and downtown Fort Worth; event venues such as the new Dickies Arena and Will Rogers Memorial Center. If you're really stretching, the release notes that it's also accessible to the historic Stockyards as well as restaurants in the 7th Street and Nearby Southside areas. Let's just say that it's convenient to all of Fort Worth.
Guestrooms feature a Cozy Corner sofa-sleeper if you're trying to bunk up, and there's free Wi-Fi throughout hotel and guestrooms.
There is also:
- Breakfast Bar with fruit, steel cut oatmeal, and Greek yogurt
- The Market serving meals anytime, day or night
- The Bar featuring specialty coffee, beer, wine, and cocktails
- Fitness Center with cardio equipment with LCD touchscreens
John F. Davis III, President of Campus Hotel Venture, the owner of the hotel, has a personal connection.
"As a TCU alumnus, I'm beyond thrilled to be opening the first hotel ever to be located within walking distance of my alma mater, TCU," Davis says in a statement. "Every college campus needs a hotel like this where sports fans can easily walk to the college stadiums, or parents and students can stay and easily tour the campus. Our new Hyatt Place Fort Worth/ TCU is an incredible asset to the TCU community."
