These are the 12 best things to do in Fort Worth this weekend
There is a lot going on in and around Fort Worth this weekend, but the headlining event by far is the Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival, which will take over downtown. If that's not your thing, you can also attend a documentary film festival, head east to celebrate some of the area's best restaurants, check out some vintage cars, honor the music of a recently deceased musician, and more.

Thursday, April 19
Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival
Now in its 33rd year, the Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival brings together tens of thousands of people. The festival, which spans more than 27 city blocks from the Tarrant County Courthouse to Sundance Square Plaza to the Fort Worth Convention Center, will feature 223 juried artists, music performances by bands like Grady Spencer & The Work and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Texas cuisine, and arts-and-crafts activities. The festival takes place through Sunday.
Thin Line Film Festival
Documentaries are often overshadowed by narrative films at other film festivals, but the Thin Line Film Festival puts them front and center. Among the features being screened will be Jane about Jane Goodall, DisneyNature's Born in China about pandas, and 29 others. The festival, taking place through Sunday at various venues in Denton, will also feature short films, music, and photography exhibits.
CultureMap Tastemaker Awards
It's time to celebrate two of the things we love most: food and drink. The return of the annual CultureMap Tastemaker Awards will honor the top restaurant and bar talent in Fort Worth and Dallas. The event, sponsored by Woodford Reserve, Ben E. Keith, Whole Foods Market, Compass Real Estate, and Korbel, will take place at Sixty Five Hundred. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Bonton Farms.
Maverick Theatre Company presents 100 Brains
Dogged by her student loans and desperate for employment, new college grad Alix Liddell crafts a completely fabricated resume ... and lands an ideal position at the mysterious bio tech firm, Brillig-Labs. All seems rosy, but is Brillig-Labs as idyllic as it seems? Obsession, deceit, and madness combine to create the perfect workplace storm, with horrifying consequences. The play will run at UT Arlington's Fine Arts Building through Sunday.

Concours d'Elegance of Texas
Concours d'Elegance is is one of the state’s largest vintage motoring and luxury lifestyle events. Taking place over the course of three days at venues around Arlington, it features a world-class gathering of selected vintage motorcars. Texas Tour & Track Day takes place at Six Flags Over Texas on Friday, the Texas Classic Auction takes place at Arlington Convention Center on Saturday, and the main event takes place at Richard Greene Linear Park on Sunday.
Magnolia at the Modern: Foxtrot
The winner of eight Awards of the Israeli Film Academy, including Best Picture, Foxtrot is about a man and his wife who cope with grief after learning that their son died in the line of duty. The film, which is in Hebrew with English subtitles, will screen seven times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
The Bellamy Brothers in concert
Howard and David Bellamy, aka the Bellamy Brothers, have been racking up hits for over 40 years. They're best known for their heyday in the 1980s, when songs like "If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me," "Do You Love as Good as You Look," and "Too Much is Not Enough" made them one of the biggest acts of the era. They'll revisit their long and storied career at this concert at Billy Bob's Texas.

2018 Fort Worth Opera Gala
Grammy-winning Metropolitan Opera star Audrey Luna headlines the Fort Worth Opera's annual gala. The event will also feature four rising stars: soprano Flora Wall and baritone Thomas Cannon will perform a during the cocktail hour, while 11-year-old Luke Chacko and student baritone Anthony Anderson will perform during the after-party. In between will be a four-course seated dinner by Chef Lanny Lancarte II while Naoko Stromberg plays the harp. The event will be at Bass Performance Hall.
Texas Rangers Post-Game Concert: Smash Mouth
When the Texas Rangers take on the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night, the baseball game won't be the only entertainment. Smash Mouth, best known for hits like "Walkin' on the Sun," "All Star," and their cover of The Monkees' "I'm a Believer," will play a post-game concert shortly after the final out. The concert is free with admission to the game, but you can also buy special $12 field passes if you desire.
Montgomery Gentry in concert
One can only imagine the strength it takes Eddie Montgomery to continue to perform following the death of his longtime musical partner, Troy Gentry, in September 2017. Their final album, the recently released Here's to You, was to have been a continuation of their nearly 20-year career together, but it instead stands as a tribute to the untimely passing of Gentry. Montgomery and his supporting band will perform at Billy Bob's Texas.
Stage West Theatre presents New Play Readings Festival
Stage West Theatre will present their 11th Annual New Play Readings Festival. Featured will be Dust by Nicole Oglesby, the winner of the 11th Southwest Playwriting Competition. In addition, the festival will feature Kill Local by Mat Smart, who wrote Stage West’s 38th Season closer, The Royal Society of Antarctica, and Sweetpea by Janielle Kastner, who just appeared in A Funny Thing Happened....

Fort Worth Opera presents "Delightful"
Fort Worth Opera, the Apex Arts League, and the City of Southlake will present an afternoon of opera arias, Broadway favorites, and celebrated classics from the Great American Songbook, featuring internationally renowned mezzo-soprano Emily Fons. Praised for her Grammy-nominated role in Jennifer Higdon’s world premiere opera, Cold Mountain, the Wisconsin native will perform at The Marq in Southlake.
