1. Legendary band Lynyrd Skynyrd to rock Fort Worth venue for first time ever. Southern rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd aren't quite ready to say goodbye after all — not until they rock Billy Bob's Texas for the very first time, at least. The legendary band will take the take stage at the World’s Largest Honky Tonk, in the Fort Worth Stockyards, on June 18 and 19. Tickets are now on sale.

2. Roy Pope Grocery in West Fort Worth bounces back in exciting reboot. Independent grocer Roy Pope Grocery, a West Fort Worth institution for 77 years, is poised for a rebound with new owners, a new look, and a new foodie-esque slate of goods and services including coffee bar, wine bar, and fancy patio. The landmark neighborhood grocery store will reopen at 2300 Merrick St., just a few steps off Camp Bowie's historic red bricks, in May.

The best ways to spend some free time this weekend in Fort Worth include a few blockbuster concerts by Miranda Lambert at Billy Bob's Texas; a high-energy fitness expo at Panther Island Pavilion; the return of the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck at The Shops at Clearfork; and more.

4. Jane is the name of this new coffee and wine bar coming to Southlake. Wine bars are on the upswing, and now there's one coming to Southlake this spring: Called Jane, it'll be a combination wine and coffee bar serving coffee, wine, cocktails, and bites, opening at 1151 E. Southlake Blvd., across from Southlake Town Square.

5. Iconic office-restaurant complex in downtown Fort Worth goes up for sale. City Place, the four-block, mixed-use development that some still call "the Tandy Center" in downtown Fort Worth, is up for sale, according to a news release. Located at 100-300 Throckmorton St., the iconic 550,900-square-foot property in the north end of downtown is adjacent to Sundance Square.
