Magnolia at the Modern: Cyrano, My Love
Edmond Rostand is not yet 30 but already has two children and too much anxiety. He has not written anything for two years. Ignoring the whims of actresses, the demands of his producers, the jealousy of his wife, the stories of his best friend's heart, and the lack of enthusiasm of all those around him, Rostand must focus and put pen to paper. For now, he has only the title: Cyrano de Bergerac. The film, which is rated R and is in French and Russian with English subtitles, will screen seven times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Ballet Concerto presents "A Holiday Special"
Ballet Concerto's annual "A Holiday Special" will feature Winterwonderland set to familiar Christmas tunes; The Christmas Grump choreographed by Margo Dean and restaged by Webster Dean; and A Hannukah Flamenco, which will introduce the audience to the story of Hannukah. The program will wrap up with a re-enactment of the Nativity set to "O Holy Night." The performance takes place at Will Rogers Memorial Center.
Tracy Byrd in concert
Country singer Tracy Byrd was a part of the '90s boom in country music, scoring hits like "Holdin' Heaven," "Lifestyles of the Not So Rich and Famous," "The Keeper of the Stars," and "Don't Take Her She's All I Got." After a 10-year break, Byrd self-released his 10th album, All American Texan, in 2016. He'll play at the Stagecoach Ballroom.
Texas Ballet Theater presents The Nutcracker
Texas Ballet Theater's version of The Nutcracker, playing at Bass Performance Hall through December 29, features exquisite costumes and dazzling choreography. Audiences can experience the most magical Christmas tradition of the season as Clara and her Nutcracker Prince battle an army of mice and travel through a winter wonderland to meet the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Kingdom of Sweets.

National Theatre Live: A Midsummer Night's Dream
Gwendoline Christie, Oliver Chris, David Moorst, and Hammed Animashaun lead the cast as Titania, Oberon, Puck, and Bottom in Shakespeare’s most famous romantic comedy. The theater becomes a forest — a dream world of flying fairies, contagious fogs, and moonlight revels, surrounded by a roving audience following the action on foot. This is a screening of a previously recorded event, not a live production. It will take place at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
