The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is all dressed and ready for the festive season to begin. They'll be switching on their spectacular Modern Lights when the sun goes down Monday, November 1, marking the earliest start yet to their fifth annual holiday display.

"The Modern trees are illuminated with an array of festive lights in celebration of the holiday season," says an October 27 release. "Passersby experience a stunning display, and visitors are invited to enjoy evening viewing opportunities."

The lights — one of the city's most prominent displays — will stay on until February 6. (Come on now, why not keep them twinkling until Valentine's Day?)

Besides driving or strolling around the campus to view the lights, guests during Modern Lights can also visit the museum galleries for free until 8 pm on Fridays.

Dinner at Cafe Modern will be served Fridays, with seatings from 5 to 8:30 pm (reservations here). "Executive Chef Jett Mora welcomes you with warm hospitality, creative cuisine, and a seasonal menu rooted in Texas ingredients," says the release.

Special First Friday at the Modern events will take place November 5, December 3, and January 7. They'll include free docent-led, 20-minute tours, cash bar, and a light dining menu in the lobby.

"The first Friday of each month, the Modern and Café Modern team up to bring you live music from the First Friday House Band, and drink specials, and tasty light bites in the museum's Grand Lobby from 5 to 8 pm," they say. "Invite friends to enjoy a unique opportunity to experience the Modern in the evening."

And as a reminder, here's what's on in the galleries throughout the holidays:

Viewing the Modern Lights outside is free. Face coverings are required for entry to the museum for visitors over the age of 2. This includes in the auditorium and in Café Modern when not at a table or eating and drinking.
