Survey Says
This is the most popular new car to buy in Texas, study says
Texas is home to country roads, highways, grid-planned city streets, and plenty of space for off-roading. Lucky for Texas drivers, there's a new vehicle for every one of those surfaces. But which was the most popular in 2019?
Online vehicle search tool iSeeCars crunched the data on millions of sales to determine the most popular new car purchased last year statewide and by metro area, and the results show that Texans love their trucks, especially Fords.
The most new popular vehicle in all of Texas, according to iSeeCars, is the Ford F-150 truck, and that extends to the metro level, too. The F-150 clocks in as the top new vehicle to buy in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.
Only Austin deviates from the trend. Austin buyers most frequently choose the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, data shows. The Chevy is also the most popular vehicle in cities such as Minneapolis-St. Paul, Oklahoma City, and St. Louis.
The F-150 also reigns as the most popular used vehicle in Texas, iSeeCars' data says. Overall, it's the most popular new vehicle in 20 of the top 50 U.S. cities.
