1. This wealthy Fort Worth neighbor named America's 8th richest suburb. Southlake has long been considered one of Fort Worth's richest neighbors, and a new study has revealed that the average household income in the affluent enclave has soared 66 percent in the last decade.
2. Michelle Obama to headline Fort Worth event for Opal Lee’s 100th birthday. Fort Worth’s iconic “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” Dr. Opal Lee, is turning 100, and the whole city is celebrating with a pretty major guest: former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama.
3. TCU in Fort Worth declared Texas' 8th best university in new 2027 list. Education ranking and review website Niche has released its 2027 rankings of the best colleges in the U.S., and Texas Christian University lands among the top-10 best universities in Texas.

It’s been three years since H Mart announced a new 42,500-square-foot location in Haltom City, and Fort Worth fans of the Asian grocery giant have been on pins and needles ever since. With an opening date predicted for sometime this fall, activity is increasing in area. But several surrounding businesses in the new plaza are already open, and at least a dozen more have signs and are set to open soon.
5. Texas clocks in as 7th hardest working state in America for 2026. Texans pride themselves on being industrious, and a new report released around Labor Day has confirmed Texas as one of the 10 most hardworking states in America in 2026.
