Forbes' annual 30 Under 30 honors the hardest-working young minds in the world. Among the 600 innovators in 20 categories on the 2016 list, four from Dallas-Fort Worth were recognized for their achievements.

From a favorite local musician to pro athletes, here are the local movers and shakers whose work has gained global attention.

Leon Bridges: Music
The 26-year-old Fort Worth native recently scored a Grammy nomination for his debut album, Coming Home, and he has stirred up a frenzy with well-received concerts and television appearances. That same album also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard hip-hop/R&B charts.

Jordan Spieth: Sports
The former UT athlete and defending FedEx Cup champion is the No. 1 ranked pro golfer in the world, and he's only 22. Spieth also is the youngest golfer to win the U.S. Open and created the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation to provide outreach to special needs youth, military families, and junior golfers. He also has excellent taste in Dallas real estate.

Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin: Sports
Left-wing Benn is a budding NHL superstar as captain of the Dallas Stars, and center Seguin made waves when he won the Stanley Cup his rookie season with his then-team, the Boston Bruins. Both have racked up impressive stats in their short professional careers and are on track to lead the Stars in another heated season.

Texas had a proud showing on this year's 30 Under 30 list. Other big names from the Lone Star State include concert promoter Sascha Guttfreund; businessman Nate Paul; education innovator Cassandra Tognoni; video game designer Ashley Ruhl; and Mohammed Ashour and Shobhita Soor, co-founders of Aspire Food Group.
