Thursday, April 7
Fort Worth Opera and Friends of the Cowtown Coliseum present Caruso in Cowtown
Fort Worth Opera and Friends of the Cowtown Coliseum will present Caruso in Cowtown, the ultimate evening of cowboys and culture. This special one-night-only, black-tie gala will recreate famed tenor Enrico Caruso’s historic 1920 Fort Worth concert, showcasing how the city’s deep western roots complement the thriving cultural mecca it is today. Stars of the 2016 Fort Worth Opera Festival productions will take the stage with special preview performances.
Improv Arlington presents DeRay Davis
DeRay Davis is quickly killing Hollywood with his hilarious humor and persona. He's been in films like Semi-Pro, Old Dogs, Scary Movie 4, and Barbershop 1 & 2, as well as several different shows on Comedy Central. He'll perform his stand-up set six separate times at Improv Arlington through Sunday.

Amphibian Stage Productions presents I'll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Mengers
Broadway veteran Karen Murphy stars in this buoyant and witty solo piece in which she plays Hollywood agent Sue Mengers, who invites you for an evening of indulgent gossip from her illustrious career working with box office luminaries Barbra Streisand, Steve McQueen, Ali McGraw, and others. The production will run at Amphibian Stage Productions through May 1.
Creation Entertainment presents The 50 Year Mission Tour
After the relatively unsuccessful three-year run Star Trek had in the late 1960s, few could have imagined that the property would still be impacting pop culture the way it is 50 years later. This convention at the Hyatt Regency DFW Airport, taking place through Sunday, celebrates Star Trek's 50th anniversary with appearances by actors you know and love, including William Shatner, Gates McFadden, Jonathan Frakes, and Michael Dorn, among others.
Magnolia at the Modern presents Embrace of the Serpent
An Oscar nominee for Best Foreign Language Film, Embrace of the Serpent features the encounter, apparent betrayal, and finally life-affirming friendship between an Amazonian shaman, the last survivor of his people, and two foreign scientists. It will play four times at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth through Sunday.
Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents Bugs Bunny at the Symphony
Relive Saturday mornings of yore as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Pepe Le Pew, Tweety, Sylvester, Wile E. Coyote, and Road Runner are projected larger than life on the big screen at Bass Performance Hall. Conducted and created by Emmy Award winner George Daugherty, Bugs Bunny at the Symphony, playing three times through Sunday, will take you back in time to acclaimed classics like What's Opera, Doc?, The Rabbit of Seville, Rhapsody Rabbit, and more.
Stolen Shakespeare Guild presents Persuasion
The work of Jane Austen continues to yield new adaptations, including this play, which Stolen Shakespeare Guild will present at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center through April 24. In the play, Anne Wentworth's life is thrown into turmoil when the man she spurned years earlier comes back to rent her family's estate and help them avoid bankruptcy.

National Theatre Live presents Hamlet
If you missed Amphibian Stage Productions hosting screenings of National Theatre Live's Hamlet back in December, you have one last chance to rectify that mistake. Benedict Cumberbatch takes on the title role of Shakespeare’s great tragedy in which Hamlet, forced to avenge his father’s death but paralyzed by the task ahead, rages against the impossibility of his predicament, threatening both his sanity and the security of the state.
