Holiday heads-up
New ice skating rink glides into Fort Worth Stockyards for 2022 holidays
UPDATE: Panther Island Ice will not return for the 2022-23 season, they posted online.

Get ready to giddy up and lace up those skates. There's a new ice skating rink coming to Fort Worth for the 2022 holiday season.
The Fort Worth Stockyards and Mule Alley, together with Hotel Drover, will introduce the first-ever Stockyards Rodeo Rink in November.
According to a June 23 announcement, the 4,000-plus-square-foot professional ice skating rink will take over the lawn of the Livestock Exchange Building from November 25, 2022 to February 5, 2023.
"The winter wonderland will include festive programming such as photos with Cowboy Santa, live music, (hot) Cocoa Corral, a picnic area, firepits, a spectacular holiday lights display, and a 40-foot Christmas tree (to name a few)," a spokeswoman says.
There are scant details available now, on this third day of summer. But they are revealing that throughout its run, six sessions will be available daily, starting at 11 am.
More information will come soon, they promise.
"With hot summer temps, we can all look forward to what winter will bring," the spokeswoman adds.
Panther Island Ice skating rink, not far down the road at Coyote Drive-In, has become a Fort Worth winter tradition. So far, no word that it's going away; according to the website, it's seeking advertisers for the 2022-23 season.
CultureMap has reached out to the Tarrant Regional Water District to confirm whether Panther Island Ice is "on" for the upcoming holiday season.
It's already shaping up to be a festive holiday season in Fort Worth. Stockyards Rodeo Rink is the second yuletide attraction announced so far, after "Lightscape," an internationally acclaimed holiday show featuring more than 1 million twinkling lights, coming to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden; tickets are on sale now.
