The slate of events in and around Fort Worth will be tilted toward the local this weekend. Choices include the end of the biggest event of the year, the final days of a light display, a cabaret music production, screenings of a new film, a famous comedian, three country concerts, two classical music concerts, a dance production, and the closing of an art exhibition.

Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo
After three weeks, it's time for the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo to come to end. For three more days through Saturday, you can check out the livestock and horse shows, kid-friendly activities and exhibits, live music, a carnival midway, shopping, food, and, of course, the rodeos. (Tip: There's a special discount for seniors on Friday.) All events take place in and around Dickies Arena.
Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth presents Modern Lights
Unlike other light displays, Modern Lights at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth stays on well past the holidays. Illuminating the trees around the museum's campus, the lights draw in visitors with the uniformity of the brilliant white lights. You'll have until Sunday to enjoy the display before it shuts off until next Thanksgiving.
Casa Mañana presents We've Only Just Begun: The Music of The Carpenters
The Carpenters personified the velvety sound of the ‘70s soft rock era. Karen’s rich and emotive voice coupled with her brother Richard’s musical arrangements gave them a distinctive style and songs that topped the charts. We've Only Just Begun features their classic songs sung by Broadway’s best, including “Close to You,” “Rainy Days and Mondays,” “Top of the World,” “We've Only Just Begun," and more. The production takes place through February 23 in the Reid Cabaret Theatre at Casa Mañana.

Magnolia at the Modern: Rose
Rose, 78 years old, has just lost her adored husband. When her grief gives way to a powerful impulse to live, making her realize that she can still redefine herself as a woman, the whole balance of the family is upset. The film, which is in French and Yiddish with English subtitles, will screen six times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Improv Arlington presents Jeremy Piven
You probably know Jeremy Piven from his role as Ari Gold on the HBO series Entourage or from any number of TV and movie parts over his nearly 40-year career. But what you might not know is that he is also on a quest to introduce his fans to an even funnier side with his stand-up comedy show. He'll perform four times through Saturday at Improv Arlington.
Chris Janson in concert
Country singer Chris Janson will close out the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s Auditorium Entertainment Series with this concert at Will Rogers Auditorium. Janson is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his 2015 debut album, Buy Me a Boat, which went to No. 4 on the Billboard Country chart on the strength of the hit title song. He's gone on to release four more albums, most recently The Outlaw Side of Me in 2023.
Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents "Tony Bennett: The Official Musical Celebration"
"Tony Bennett: The Official Musical Celebration" is a journey through Bennett’s chart-topping hits and heartfelt ballads that have touched the hearts of millions around the world. The live orchestra performance, led by conductor Evan Roider and featuring a trio of vocalists, will have performances on both Friday and Saturday at Bass Performance Hall.
Chase Matthew in concert
Country singer Chase Matthew is just getting started in his career, having released his debut album, Born for This, in 2022. He's been busy since then, releasing a follow-up album in 2023, as well as three EPs in 2023 and 2024. Now he comes to Fort Worth for the first time in advance of the release of his third album, Chase, due out on February 21. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents "Mozart's Magnificent Voyage"
"Mozart's Magnificent Voyage" is an adaptation of two Classical Kids stories featuring Mozart’s young son, Karl, who longs to be taken from his boarding school to spend more time with his famous father. The concert includes 23 excerpts from some of Mozart’s most famous pieces as they magically weave in and out of the drama, including themes from The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni, popular selections from The Magic Flute, and more. The morning concert takes place at Bass Performance Hall.
Theatre TCU presents The Choreographer's Stage
The Choreographer's Stage will be a presentation of Theatre TCU student-choreographed work in various dance styles featuring student dancers. There will be three performances through Sunday at Ed Landreth Auditorium on the TCU campus.
Casey Donahew in concert
Country singer (and Burleson native) Casey Donahew had a nice run of success on the national country music scene, charting four straight albums in the top 10 on the Billboard Country charts in the 2010s, including the No. 3 All Night Party. He's gone on to release nine albums in his career, including the new Never Not Love You. He'll play at Billy Bob's Texas.

Kimbell Art Museum presents "Dutch Art in a Global Age: Masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston" closing day
Sunday will be the final day to view "Dutch Art in a Global Age" at Kimbell Art Museum. The exhibition brings together paintings by Rembrandt, Frans Hals, Gerrit Dou, Jacob van Ruisdael, Maria Schalcken, and other celebrated artists from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston’s renowned collection. These are joined by four Dutch paintings from the Kimbell’s permanent collection, along with prints, maps, and stunning decorative objects in silver, porcelain, glass, and more, from the 17th and the first half of the 18th centuries.
