Comedy troupe Four Day Weekend to leave downtown Fort Worth after 27 years
The laughs are over in downtown Fort Worth: After 27 years, improv comedy troupe Four Day Weekend is leaving its location in Fort Worth's Sundance Square.
According to a release, they'll leave their headquarters at 312 Houston St. in July.
In a statement, founding member David Wilk said they were leaving because Sundance Square had not renewed their lease, but that they'll seek a new location.
"We are deeply saddened that we won't be able to continue our journey in Sundance Square, a place that has been our home for nearly three decades," Wilk said. "However, we are excited about finding a new location in Tarrant County where we can continue to bring laughter and joy to our loyal audiences."
Four Day Weekend’s legacy began with a six-week run at Casa on the Square in 1997 which has led to a 27-year relationship with Sundance Square.
“Improv teaches you adaptability,” said Wilk. “It teaches you to fail fast and move on. We now have to figure out what we are going to do from this point forward. This isn’t what we had wanted, but we are looking at this situation as an opportunity.”
Four Day Weekend has a second location in Dallas, on Greenville Avenue, which will continue to operate.
