1. Affluent Fort Worth neighbor ranks among wealthiest suburbs in U.S. A new household income study by GoBankingRates lists Southlake among the wealthiest American suburbs in 2024. Southlake ranked No. 13 out of all 50 cities in the report, with the average household making the 13th highest income nationwide at $360,078 per year.
2. New neighborhood bar to open in vintage downtown Fort Worth building. Two of Fort Worth’s most well known club owners have joined together to open a new speakeasy-inspired bar downtown. Called FW Thunderbird, it’ll be located at 306 N. Houston St., on the second floor of the Red Goose Saloon building, in the space previously occupied by the Fort Worth Live club.
3. Weatherford restaurant-bar foils check-skipping diners caught in the act. Times are tough, but that doesn't mean it's OK to skip out (or in this case, jump out) on paying for your tab at a local spot. And one Weatherford restaurant, Fins Patio Bar & Grill, had the perfect response when a scammy duo decided to ditch the check on a meal over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
4. Coffee shop chain full of kindness to open its first location in Fort Worth. A Dallas-based coffee shop chain known for its kindness is coming to Fort Worth: La La Land Kind Cafe, which serves coffee and mentors foster youth, will open a location in Fort Worth in a former Smoothie King at 5733 Camp Bowie Blvd.
5. Here's when Taylor Sheridan's Fort Worth-shot 'Landman' will premiere. Forget those other guys, Taylor Sheridan will be America's big winner in November 2024. His buzzy new series filmed around Fort Worth, Landman, will premiere Sunday, November 17 on Paramount+, the network revealed. That's just one week after the November 10 debut of the final episodes of Sheridan's Yellowstone on Paramount.
